He didn’t get any medical request... we sent our files on jan 17 2018, got aor 22 feb 2018 ...

Hi stellar79, I have the same status as your friend "we are processing your background check..." and I also only received my AOR on 15 Feb 2018. I was also wondering the same thing. Didn't do any upfront medicals, only paid RPRF upfront.

Have you received more info on this?

Yes i paid upfront RPRF... now under my background status it’s showing the same that we are processing your background check.

According to another well-informed forum member, this background update means they are checking our PCC's for criminality.

I am following a group same as mine waiting for Medicals and they got their UCI back in 10/2017 and 11/2017 yet theres no MR for them. Not sure why, but probably Visa offices are waiting for the MR update that will be implemented this April 2018? Hopefully by then we receive news of receiving MRs

Canada: Medical Inadmissibility Rules to be Updated
The Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has announced that changes to the way foreign nationals with serious medical conditions will be admitted to Canada are coming. A formal announcement is expected in April 2018.

I think this has something to do with an update with medical conditions that are inadmissible ex. HIV, AIDS. they may be adding some conditions/illness or updates. But i dont think that it means that Medicals will not be required at all

Hi, I didn’t do upfront medicals because the medical wait time is 1 year i guess!!?? Correct me if i am wrong? N medicals will expire by then

Yes, medicals is only valid for 1 year. I've seen some medical requests coming through before 1 year but you can never know when yours will be sent... I guess we'll just have to wait for it.

I just checked a group there AOR August/ September 17 have received MR in March 2018.
So hopefully will get in next 3 months.
