If it’s the way your are saying, mine would have to have the line “invited for test / interview” although I got the invitation (and it doesn’t show on ecas).

So... I am guessing (just a guess) that they don’t always update the ecas of all family members, only the main applicant...

ECAS is not always accurate. Getting an interview invite does not mean that all other checks were completed and passed. Background checks can be run after the test. This is evidenced by the fact that several applicants were asked to provide FPs after their test. And some received RQs.

As I said, I am not sure, but considering we do everything “together” (like when they send invitation for test/interview, oath etc) they send to all family members, I guess the files aren’t so “independent”.

Background checks are independent. The fact that one spouse got DM while the other didn't is proof of this. That being said, IRCC will try to schedule oath once all applicants in a family have decisions made on their file. So you're still processed together.

Hi,

My Husband missed his first test (what was on Jan 18, 2018 at ottawa) due to daughter's health, he also write a explanation letter to cic, but we r still waiting for next test date. Can anyone tell me around how many weeks they send us next test notification? will they update on ECAS? or they they send us direct letter?

They will intimate you directly via email or letter. no update on ecas

@rao_manoj2004 how was your test yesterday? How much did you need to study for it? was the immigration officer nice? Did he/she tell you when the oath date will be?my husband will write the test on the 5th of next month. we are super excited!
