Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications 2016 timeline and updates

Hi, Im new in this forum, I just want to ask you guys questions about my husband’s application.
We applied Nov 18,2016
AOR- dec 19,2016
Owp- march 2017
March 2,2018- I received this letter “this refers to the Application for Permanent Residence you made under the Spouse or
Common-Law Partner in Canada Class.
We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in Etobicoke IRCC will contact you to arrange an appointment for the finalization of your permanent resident application” (checked ecas both side says DM)

March 7,2018–i received this “ It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent residence as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. Please note that a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements.”


My question is why i received the message saying my application is completed already, then after that they message me saying that i need to do background check still?

The emails were sent out of order. Usually means AIP and DM happened at the same time. Don't worry about it. Congrats! Landing is next!

CIC sent my wife an email requesting 2 letters to be sent in and to use that IRCC WEBFORM site,, Can we send both together ? and SHOULD we write our Application Number and the UCI number somewhere on each letter ??.. thanks for any help in this matter !!!

Hello there, I have a question I hope somebody can help me out. I am sponsoring my husband (NOV 2016inland application). Last week we received a pre arrival letter and we got a decision made on sponsorship side and in progress under PR application. No SA/AIP. What does this mean.

Those have been known to be sent in error. What does ECAS presently say when you log in as the Sponsor?

This message is directed at people who have already been through the process and have received their PR card
I have planned a trip to be taken just after the 2 month mark and was wondering if people were able to share with me how long it took to get your card in the mail? Please only positive answers allowed haha trying to keep my spirits up here!

65 days was what the Check Processing Times app said. Wife received it on the 65th day.

Best of luck to you in all you endeavors.

Please advice as best as you can with whats the hell is on going on with my application.

- My application was received on April, 2017 (Applied for Inland Spousal Sponsorship with OWP) - (I was out of status);
- My husband received a letter stating that he's eligible to sponsor;
- After months I received my open work permit;
- I later received a letter that my file was transferred from CIC Mississaugs to CIC Etobicoke for further assessment;
- A week ago I received a call from CIC Etobicoke asking to verify information about my relationship with my husband, his family, family, our future together, etc.;
- The next day I received a letter stating that I am eligible to apply as a permanent residence and I need to medical examinations for myself and any other family members that stated in the application (these documents was submitted with the application and I had to redo the medical examination in November as it was expired) - My online status says that my application started processing in date provided;
- I called CIC and the automated voice (never get to talk to a live person) says that my background check is currently in process, I do not need an interview, I passed my medical examination, they will contact me if additional information is required.

Can someone please explain to me what going on with my application? What would be the next step?

Sounds like someone at CPC-M or Etobicoke was click happy. Happens. Ask around... I bet there is a crazy BadAss Jamaican around here (@meaningful1 here's looking at you, kid!) that was accused of being in the Afghan police/army. Total mistake. Button click. I would just supply the info they asked for and a letter that states you're unsure what's happening.

You got an AIP letter. You got your OWP (which means you passed AIP).

You could also reach out to a local MP's office. They can get it sorted for you (ask your husband to do this -- or to start the ball rolling with them). They have a special line they can call and they don't wait on hold like we do.

I wanted to ask,,, when you upload Documents thru the IRCC WEBFORM, how do you know 100% that they received the documents..?? Can you look some where to see if they did ??

CIC will email you to confirm it was attached. They also send you a confirmation they got it immediately after you post online.

Looking around,, hmmm I wonder where Profiler is? He is always on here during the day helping people with there questions, such an awesome caring guy and truly seems to love helping us all when he can... Hope he is A-Okay and on a nice warm Vacation lol

Also there was no issue while traveling back, people might comment now that it was your fortune and bla bla bla but honestly as far you have valid work permit and multiple entry visa they are not stopping you at the airport regardless you put file spouse in Canada.
Anywayz i would like to share this info for the friends who wants to travel outside Canada.

You encountered a CBSA agent who permitted re-entry. This isn't always the case when trying to traverse the border. There are plenty of cases where cases were refused because the person was gone too long from Canada as well. I'm not saying you cannot leave. I am saying there is a limit to how much CIC will tolerate -- same goes for CBSA. YMMV in every border crossing.

Document requests for sponsor applications are weird. Your "so called lawyer" should know what's required for that.. it's pretty easy.

You're not far off. They can do SA and AIP fast. As long as the docs are in. If not, you get to wait 15-45 days
