Canadian visa photo requirements
How many photos should you have for the Canadian visa application?
You should provide two photos.
Your photographs should meet the requirements below.
You should print your photos on a high-quality photo paper.
Requirements:
- The photos should be recent (made within last six months). Both black and white or in colour photos are accepted.
- Background: plain white or light-coloured.
- It is not allowed to change digital photos in any way.
- Face expression should be neutral. Do not smile. Your mouth should be closed.
- Dark sunglasses are not allowed. You can wear glasses if you wear it in your every-day life, but it should not be tinted and a frame should not close any part of your eyes.
- You can wear a hairpiece or other cosmetic accessory if it does not give a different appearance to you.
- It should be a full-face photo even if you wear a head covering for religious reasons.
- The frame size: 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″).
- Your face should be in the center of the photo, the top of the shoulders and full front view of the head should be clearly seen.
- The size of the head, from the top of the head (if obscured by hair or a head covering) where the top of the head or skull would be if it could be seen should be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″).
