Hi I am soon submitting my PR app in the upcoming months. Is the eDo method from the FBI acceptable to submit to CIC ?

Yes, make sure to ask for a hard copy when submitting the eDo.
Several people have remarked that there's no discernible difference between the hardcopy that they mail out and a print out of the PDF. Is there anything special about the packaging ? (I read some vague comments about "sealed" copies on the FBI web site, but nothing specific about the differences between the mailed version and a self-printed copy.)

I haven't used eDO, but when I got my PCC I used a channeller who only provided the results via an emailed PDF and no hard copy. Had no issues at all printing off the emailed PDF and submitting a scanned version of that.

Ah ok, I will just request a PDF and a hard copy! And I would like to say

I doubt they would request a sealed copy, as MOST people would want to check for curiousity, or to see if it's even correct first, since there is the small chance it could have an error

How Long is the new process for this??
Depending on where you are, the hardest part may be finding a place to get your fingerprints done. I spent the best part of a day on the phone and searching the 'net to find a place in Western New York - and then a 90 minute drive to get to the only place that still does paper prints.

Filling in the forms and paying online is painless and quick. You need to get your prints to WV, which may take a couple of days. We sent them by courier, and got an email about 36 hours after they received the prints. If you ask for printed results, they'll take a couple of weeks to arrive, but you can access the results online immediately.

So - depending on weekends and holidays, you might be able to get your electronic results in a week.

You can also use a channeller like Fieldprint, if there's one anywhere near you, they will do a live-scan, and you'll get results quickly, but PDF download is the only way to get the results, and they cost a bit more.

The consensus here seems to be that printing out a PDF response is acceptable to IRCC - if you need to submit on paper, so there's no advantage to waiting for the FBI hardcopy, if you take the eDO path.

I used the new eDO system and yes there is no difference whatsoever between the mailed pdf and hard copy, other than the hard copy comes sealed in an FBI envelope with confidential written on it lol. In fact i submitted the pdf as my PCC but it does not hurt to have a hardcopy too just in case.

Just to confirm, you can send in Ink & Roll for the eDo process correct?
You could have live-scan prints printed onto a card, but I believe they prefer the traditional ink version. We were advised by the officer who did the card that the FBI actually rejects prints submitted on the PDF form they provide on their own website (it doesn't print properly on standard paper), so try to get a genuine card if you can.

I doubt they reject just for that reason -I bet it must just be missprints, so stingy! I'll try to get a actual card
