Hi Everyone,

I am a former Filipino now a canadian citizen for 20 years, am divorced for 7 years already ( from a Filipina wife, marriage took place in the philippines). Now i'm going to the Philippines to marry my gf ,a single Filipina whom i've known for almost a year now. We met online on September 2017, personally met her in December 2017 and we both confirmed that we're meant for each other. Can someone of similar situation give his/her experience regarding getting married in the Philippines ? I did some research about this but if someone can give an actual account of his or her experience of this nature or anyone who knows anything related to this, i will really appreciate. Thank you!

i dont think there is a divorce in the philippines? Did you mean annulment?
If I remember correctly, a divorce in Canada, for a Canadian citizen, should be recognized in the Philippines.

Hi

You may want to review your dates. If you met online in Sept 2017, it has been 6 months or less, not "almost a year".

How much time have you actually spent together in person?
