Hi.
Im a 21 year old high school graduate in India. I finished my grade 12 in 2013 with 90% and my grade 10 in CBSE with 9.6 GPA. I pursued engineering until 2017 which i quit after not being able to cope up with the stress as it wasnt the program of my choice. Im applying to Canadian colleges for the fall 18 intake and most visa consultants have told me that its not possible to get a study permit with my profile. A couple others have asked me to get work experience certificates which I can through my aunts business firm. I dont wish to engage in such practices. Could any one guide me on this? Is it wise to apply for a study permit with my failed memos from engineering?

When you will fall in problem for submitting any fake documents the agent will not take any responsibility so dont listen to them. Since, you left engineering without completing it so it is going to be very difficult for you to prove that you are a bonafide student and wont do the same thing in Canada.

Is there any way to convince the immigration officer?

No harm in trying but dont say that after 4 yrs you lost interest. Even though that may be the fact but explain it in a good way. Students have study gaps, fails, low scores but that does not mean they all get refused. Write SOP that will convince the officer that you are a bonafide student who will not leave his studies after coming to canada. You have good scores in 10th and 12th so you are definitely a good student.

This i what i was thinking. I attempted to complete the course to not go against my familys wishes. I didnt have the finances to switch. We recently sold a piece of land so i can afford to select a program of my choice. Ill reword it but does that sound good enough?

Also about the experience thing, im not gonna risk my permit by getting the experience letters including payslips and ITRs.

all I understand here is that you did leave your engineering to work and earn money. You are just changing careers. Your point is also valid. I dont see anything wrong is telling the visa officer that you were not in a position to make your own decisions. No doubt that the wording has to be good. How are your scores in engineering so far?

Really bad. I had 11 backlogs before i quit. The subjects i passed, i did with a passing grade. Also, im apply for a 3 year diploma course. Would that affect the officer's decision?

very tricky to explain all this in the SOP. Since, you have not been able to complete your Bachelor's at all so it makes sense that you want to do a diploma course. You should have complete the degree and then should have applied for any Master's program. If you are still interested then try but with full preparation.

Wouldnt the officer understand that i had no intention of doing that program and i did it only cuz my dad made me?

They would understand but no necessary that it would convince them to give you the study permit. Trying is in your hands. As you already know that its tricky so high expectations can disappoint you. You can only know when you try.

Hi,

I've done 12th twice as i failed in first attempt in 2007. In second attempt i got 60 %. this was completed in 2008. then i completed btech in EEE 2008 to April 2012. after that i got job through campus placement on 1 Nov, 2012, which i resigned on 7th Jan, 2013 because i didn't liked the work. then i got regular employment from 25 Aug 2013 to 30 Sep 2017. Then, I started a gadget repair bussiness on 18 dec 2017 and currently engaged in that. I will be closing this down as i'm not able to manage that properly. I want to do a Pg diploma in bussiness management in Canada to start another bussiness here with proper education. My Ielts score is 6.5 not less than 6. I'm confused if my application for study visa will get rejected due to study gap.
Any guidance will be much appreciated.

gap will not be an issue unless you explain that in your SOP and also about your intentions to study in Canada.

Hi my wife has a big gap in study as she’s been busy in looking after kid. Now she would like to go back to study and would like to take admission in one of Canada’s institutions. Would anybody suggest if the gap would be a problem
