ok so your background status says "we are processing your background check"? and they still haven't given you a DM? it could be because of your late AOR2 compared to other April applicants! However if your BCG status is "we are processing your background check" and not "your application is in progress", then I am confident you will receive DM very soon!

Thanks Sir, at this time, this assurance is very much appreciated. Hopefully, both and all of us will get DM/PPR very very soon.

My husband applied for my PR from canada and I live in the US. I received my decision made status in December and had a request for passport. My lawyer asked for a change of file from Delhi to US/Canada since I live in the US. Has been more than 4 weeks now and haven’t received a reply on this request. Not sure how to proceed. Has anyone been in this situation or heard of it?

Why did you lawyer want to do that? You had already had the PPR, the rest you needed to do is to send your passport with two photos and signed form to your lawyer, then he can forward them to NDVO to process your COPR and VISA. And after that NDVO will mail them back to your lawyer and he can mail it to you. For the 4 weeks that you are waiting, it probably had done all of those already.

In the meantime we went to India for vacation for 3 weeks (That is from Last week of December to Jan 3rd week) which exceeded the time of passport submission which is 30 days. So they asked for extension along with the file transfer.

Also, I heard NDVO is asking people to submit the passports in person and cant be mailed.

For that I don't know (It doesn't make any sense to me though). Maybe some ppl processed by NDVO can answer that. But I was surprised how incompetent your lawyer was. He should receive the PPR as soon as it was issued, and he couldn't inform you right the way? I mean you did leave him your email or contact info, didn't you? Then you have 30 days to mail your lawyer whatever was requested. It has enough time to go around.

Or if it was true that NDVO only accept passport in person, and since you were in India, wasn't it better that your lawyer send you an email that attached with PPR, and you could easily go there and submitted your passport?

Seems like there are quite a few of us April applicants still waiting for BGC to start..... I wonder what's the delay in our applications...
