Hi all, i'm very sad now because i have a question an nobody can't help, call to cic and nothing,
I know that i need to submit a police certificate but, this is what they say in the cic website:

How to obtain a police certificate - Venezuela

Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes, all applicants aged 18 or older must provide a police certificate.

How or where do I obtain one?
With your application for a visa to Canada, submit:

your cedula number if you are a Venezuela national,
OR
your passport number if you are not a Venezuela national.

If you are applying in Caracas, Venezuela
The CIC Office in Caracas processing your application will work with the appropriate authorities to obtain the required Police Certificate on your behalf.

If you are not applying in Caracas, Venezuela
The CIC Office processing your application will send your name, date of birth and cedula or passport number to the Immigration section in Caracas, Venezuela and officers there will work with the appropriate authorities to obtain the required Police Certificate on your behalf. Caracas will send the Venezuela Police Certificate to the Immigration office processing your application.

IMPORTANT: Applicants should not send their cedula or passport number directly to the Venezuela Police Authorities.

So i need to add just my id number to my application? What i need to do? ??? is the only thing that is missing in my application :( is very sad because of this i don't obtain the police certificate before... somebody have this same issue? somebody can help me? that's very frustrating that they can't help me with this question. Please, i will appreciated all your help! Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Dont worry its easy..

You must to go to Edificio Paris en la Candelaria floor 5th and pay 0.50 BSF and submitte your cedula copy...
Then pick up the certificate at Ministerio de Interior y Justicia en la Av Urdaneta in 1 week..
Then bring all to Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores infront of Banco Central to Apostille the document.

Good Luck let me know if you need more help.

My husband's experience, which mirrored other people's, was that even though they say to not submit it, start doing the paperwork to get it in order to have it as it accelerates the process. I would probably opt to include it in the package with a letter stating that based on information you have received, it may be helpful to include this document.

If you want to play it really safe, do as we did: submit only a letter with your cédula number and, when your file is transfered to the specific visa office, contact them through the reply system, and ask if they would prefer you get this document your self.

About the specifics on obtaining the document, SEVEN07 has illustrated very well how. However, if you do not live in Caracas (as was my husband's case) do it through a trustworthy gestor. You should have it about 2-3 weeks.

In this thread you can also see some information: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t90842.0.html

Hi,
My turn to be in trouble with this antecedentes penales !
I lived in Caracas for ten months and I need the paper for the permanent residence in Canada.

I live in France and I am French. I don't have a cedula, and I tried to apply with my passport number, impossible.
I don't understand : what can we do if they ask for a cedula ?
My passport number has letters, and it is not possible to enter the full number in the registration form.
Is someone could help me, it would be great.

:)

Is there a Venezuelan consulate or embassy in France? They should be able to assist you.

I've sent an email to the French embassy in Caracas and another one to the Venezuelian Embassy in France, we'll see.
I hope I'll get an answer. Someone can help me in Caracas (a friend of mine lives there) but there is still the cedula problem. It seems to work only for venezuelian citizens.

I can't even reach that stage. Impossible to register. I need a valid (cedula or something) number to do it.
