Well, what I heard from my lawyer was tht, the file is under final review....

umm.. that is usually not the status of background check on gc key
it will usually be one of these three things:
1. "your application is in progress..."
2. Not Applicable
3. "we are processing your background check..."
The eligibility is usually worded as "we are reviewing your eligibility..."- if your representative has access to your GC key, ask him what the status of your background check is!

please don't expect anything anytime soon and listen to them- if you get hopeful you will be very disappointed. if you are lucky and get selected for either pilot program/interviews you might get to hear something before any of the July applicants. the ones who got PPR were either interviewed or selected for pilot program. Regular May or June applicants have not received any updates. They are almost done with April applicants so next will definitely be May. According to their timeline May/June for July applicants seems very reasonable. Another 3-4 months of wait- I know it seems a lot but trust me all of us here, especially the April and May applicants wished we got an email like that, that early on in our journey so we wouldn't have to be so anxious and hopeful every time.

I am April 6th Applicant and have no update so far so don't assume April is finished ...

I said "almost done" not finished, They are almost done with those whose BCG have been "Not Applicable" or " we are processing your background check.."
The next BIG update will most likely be for early May applicants, hopefully in the next 2 weeks. As you have indicated that your GCMS notes showed that criminality has not been started, and your BCG has never been NA and you sent PCC after your file reached NDVO...which could be all the reasons for the delay for you! But it will happen- don't worry! You will most likely be dealt with as they deal with early May applicants so I hope by Feb end you will be sorted as well!!

In my account it is written no back ground check required. Does it make issuance of visa for my spouse in any way faster. If yes by how much time

oh I don't know about a status update called "no back ground check required"... is it "Not Applicable"? I am not sure about that, sorry!
