It means they haven't started any progress yet on the background check. Mine went from: "Not applicable" to: "...We will send you a message when we start your background check" and the next update after that will be "We started processing your background check."

It varies for each applicant. All I know is that mine said "Not applicable" until about 10 days after we submitted the Schedule A and Police Certificate, then it changed to the next update "We will send you a message when we start your background check", and it's been like that now for 2 months. We're now waiting for it to be updated to "We started background check". It's possible they're already working on it but just haven't updated our GCKey status yet.

Hello friends, I sponsored my wife. File was processed by SGVO. Immediately after she got MR, we became parents. Her medical was partially done since she was due in a week. Now I contacted CIC and they told me to fill up 2 forms for my baby among which I believe 1 is required. I need some clarification on below questions (highlighted red). I quote their email with my questions:

To do so, we invite you to complete the following forms and mail them to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario:

- A new Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking form (IMM 1344) completed by the sponsor,
Is my baby the principal applicant on this form?
Your Answer:
Does my wife require to sign on page -1, section 3 (Co-Signer)?
Your Answer:
Person you are sponsoring (PA)- Is this my child's name?
Your Answer:
Signature on Page 6 (last page) - If my baby is the principal applicant what can I do in this signature field?
Your Answer:

- (If the application is still at the CPC in Mississauga) A new Generic Application Form for Canada (IMM 0008) with supporting documents,
My wife was the principal applicant and the file was already processed at SGVO. Now I am just sponsoring my baby who is 1 month old. Does this form require to fill?

- (If you are adding a dependent child of a dependent child) A Financial Evaluation form (IMM 1283) with supporting documents,
This is not required

and

The add-on request including:

• your name, (Is this the sponsor's details or my wife's details who was the PA?)
• your client ID number/UCI, (Is this the sponsor's details or my wife's details who was the PA?)
• your file number, (Is this the sponsor's details or my wife's details who was the PA?)
• a detailed letter of explanation,
• a copy of the birth certificate, marriage certificate or proof of common-law relationship, and
• if applicable, the proof of payment.

Just got an email that an update has been made to our account. GCKey now says approved! Just have to wait for COPR. Hopefully tracking will be initiated this week.

MVO and NVO both are pretty fast. I am seeing NVO starting giving immigration for July 2017 applicants.

My spouse's medical was requested about 6 months into the application.. just completed it last week. Does anyone have an idea for how long until next steps?

we have the same timeline been with lvo for 4 months i have no updates at all no bgc or pre arrival

My 6 months of Total application processing time time (day CMC-M received the application) and My 4 Months with LVO going will be on Thurs Jan 18th. Everything is ready for notes but I will request it on Thurs Jan 19th onward after crossing full 4 months with LVO.

Hey..I just tallied my process...I submitted my PCC and Schedule A on the 20th of October....That time my BGC was “Your application is in process.We will let you know when it’s done”
After around 12-15 days of the submission of those docs,it’s showing NA..
Should I consider that my IP1 is done? And now NA will go to IP2? That time my BGC will be “We are processing your application”????
If so how much time approx considering all the trends? Please help
