Do i need to apply for visa again if i defer my classes on next semester?

Hi,
Really need help here. My classes will start tomorrow on 8th January and i haven't yet got my visa. So i have decided to defer my classes to next semester (September) I've already asked my university for deferral letter and i will probably get it soon. My question is that; Would i need to apply for the visa all over again afterwards? If not? Then what am i supposed to do next? And if yes, then it would really suck for me.

Take the deferral letter. You cannot apply for visa unless the current application is refused. If it is approved then you are good. You would just need an extension of visa in future. If you are refused, then you have to start the process again.

I applied through VFS, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Do i need to submit my deferral letter to vfs as soon as i get it? Some forums say that i'll get my passport back and they'll ask me to submit the passport 3 months before september. Is it true? If yes, then in what case? One more thing, Can the Canadian embassy reject my visa application on the basis of university class date?

If you already have the deferral letter then send it to them. Even if you dont send it, they would still process your application but it is always good to send it. They will only send your passport back if your application is refused. If approved, they will just grant you the study permit. They wont send the passport back and ask you to again submit in September.

No they usually dont ask. I never heard. it wont cause any issues but it is better to get a letter. Visa officers look for intention. You want to show them that you are prepared and serious about your application.

If you get the visa, you have to go in the next intake otherwise it is a waste. Dont withdraw unless you get to know the outcome.

you can just email them. do you have your UCI or application #. Make sure you indicate this number in the email.
