Our application has been sent back to us from CPC in Mississauga. Does anyone know what method CIC uses to send applications back to international destinations? Canada Post International Air Parcel or Canada Post International Surface Parcel? We (sponsor and applicant) currently reside outside of Canada.

My ecas says:
“We returned your application with a letter. You may re-apply or resubmit your application when the information requested is provided. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.”

I have been over and over the application that I sent and could not find anything missing. It is really frustrating for us. The mail is very unreliable here and I am afraid we will never receive the 1.7 Kg application package and letter back from CIC.

How long do I need to wait before contacting the call centre?

If we do not receive the application package and letter back from CIC can I use a photo copy of the Medical and Police reports that I have already submitted or do we need to get new ones?

Will the call centre email me or read me a copy of the letter that was sent with the returned application package?

I look forward to hearing from others that have had their application returned.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

Thanks

You probably forgot to sign one of the forms/documents which caused CPC-M to send back the entire package.

My application too was sent back to us because our so called "lawyer" didn't go it over properly to note that two of the forms weren't signed. Useless Lawyer he is :S

Did you save copies of your documents, etc., you submitted with your application? I suggest you do that if you haven't done so when the package comes back.

Mind you, the officer at CPC-M that looked over the application would have gone through everything else and stamped the sections s/he has approved. When you are sending it back to them, they give you a priority package number or something of the sort that when the package gets back to CPC-M it will go directly to the IO incharge of looking it over. Therefore, it wouldn't sit in their queue of dust piled up applications. The letter will explain everything to you but I think they give you time frame you need to get the package back to them. Usually 60-90 days.

One last thing, I would strongly suggest you send the package to a family member in Canada and have that person send it off to CPC-M with their Cdn mailing address just in case anything has to get sent back to your international destination because we all know how well the mailing to international destinations go :(

I highly doubt the call center will provide you with the information you need. You can still try your luck though.

You can use copies of the Medical slip/form to send them because they will already have that in their records. However, for the PCC I am not sure how original the document is at your destination. If it's a computerized clearance then I would use a photocopy, otherwise, I will try getting another one done to be on the safer side.

Good luck :D

Hi - sorry to hear that they sent it back, I can understand your frustration! It most likely is just a missed signature or something else that's easy to fix, and hopefully you will receive it back with no problems. When I sent off my original application it looked like it had been lost in the mail and I called CIC to ask if I would need to get another medical / more police certificates or whether I could just use photocopies. They said that for the medical I could just send them a photocopy but I would need to apply for new police certificates as they need to have original documents. Hope that helps. Fingers crossed all runs smoothly and you wont need to put together a new application anyway!

Mine got sent back and I got it back within a week. We forgot to sign something basically. Sadly, they didn't just pick it back up, we were placed back at the beginning of the line again and had to wait the month until they looked at it again. Fun times.

I am not 100% sure if they would do this but I know if CIC has any CIC related stuff to send from Canada they first send it to Ottawa which sits in a pile up and wait for whenever Ottawa has to send out packages in large quantities to the Visa Office responsible for processing papers in your region.

So does this mean it gets sent from CPC MISS to Ottawa to the Visa Office responsible for my country and then they put it in the regular mail to my house ? ( I know I will never get it back if that is the case)

I think this is how they roll but like I said, I am not 100% certain of how they actually do it. I would assume this is the way since it's Government stuff. Just keep your fingers crossed and try contacting the CIC Call Centre and see if anyone can be of assistance.

I am applying for my spouse in India.. I am a canadian citizen and they recieved my application on Jan.27 and was opened on Feb.23, it was sent back on feb.23 for missing document.
I was told 5-10 buisness days to recieve it in the mail... its been over 23 days and have not got it back yet.
When I call CIC all they tell me is to wait till april.6, if not recieved to send a new one.
this is bullshit, I spent 2 hrs on the phone with them and filed a complaint against them, my complaint will go to ottawa and hopefully they fix the system of sending such big important packages through registered mail not regular.
Anyways they are very negligent and try to cover it up. And I hate how theres only one number to contact to deal with this problem.
My husband and I have been apart since dec.17 and our nightmare is coming true, I never thought they could just lose it like that and expect us to make a new one. the officer looked through all my stuff and sent it back. now that fucking idiot better aknowledge all the stuff he saw before that I might not be able to retrieve.
And show some leniancy aand compassion..... but the thing is the VISA OFFICE IN INDIA wont care about cpcmissisaugas mistake..... omg i just dont know what to do

You need to stand back and breathe...

They are following a standard procedure, the postal system is not the CIC.
This is not personal, far from it. VO's have to be objective, so I doubt that compassion can enter into it.

The key issue to remember here is, that you did not complete the application correctly, a document was missing.
Clearly, if the application was complete, the package would not have been returned.

Information for everyone - Before sending the application:

People should crosscheck all the documents, the signatures, the full application, the whole thing.
Do not rush the application, take the time to get it right.
Sending a full application one week later is better than sending it right now, containing errors.
Copy photographs and cards, do not include originals of any document unless the notes require it.

Before sending the application, everyone should make full copies of the whole package.

Submitting this stuff and taking part in the process is about endurance, it will never be a sprint.
Plan for the possible errors and take the time to mitigate them.

There is nothing you can do, but wait for the package.

Ours was also sent back to us with letter(learnt from ecas), but we never received them (lost in the mail). I sent a fax to the consulate and waited for a while before they sent me a copy of the original letter attached to the returned application. Luckily I kept a copy of my original application and compared to the letter from CIC what was incomplete/missing. When I was ready again, I sent a new application to CPC Mississauga again.

Thanks again to everyone for their input and answers.

@steaky How long did you wait before you contacted the consulate for the copy of the letter ? Did you really contact the consulate in your country or did you contact the CIC call centre?

@cdngrl Yes we found out on Ecas once it became active about 37 days after our application was received by CPC Miss.
