What do cic checks after they request medical and after medical the status changes to Passed?

If you submitted medicals upfront then they will check that and simultaneously send your details for background check. If you have not submitted medicals upfront then they will straight proceed to work on your application and check to see if they want to grant the visa or not. If they have decided to grant you the visa then only they will ask you to submit medicals. They is no point asking you to submit medicals if they dont want to approve your application. After submitting, if it shows medicals passed then it should be an approval.

hi, I have applied for my visa on the 16th of November. I am a citizen of tunisia but currently living in Bahrain. This is my profile:

Grade 10: 82%
Grade 11: 84%
Grade 12: 92%

IELTS overall: 7.5;
R: 7.5
W: 6
L: 7.5
S: 8

I graduated in June 2017 and i applied for 2018 january intake at Lakehead University and got my acceptance in Bachelors of Commerce.

For my visa application I included my mother's bank statement as she's going to sponsor me, there is about 70,000CAD, i also included a sponsorship letter where my mother said that she's going to pay my full study/living expenses during my stay in canada (signed), moreover i included my parent's house ownership deed back in tunisia with the legal translation because it was in arabic. (I also included rest of the documents like passport photocopies, IELTS, etc.)

I got a letter right after i applied, saying that i need to give my biometrics since I'm tunisian, i'm submitting my biometrics by the end of the week in the canadian embassy in Tunis.

What are my chances of getting my visa?

Answer - You have strong academic background + your IELTS scores are also very good. If you have prepared a strong SOP then you dont need to worry at all.

Monday to Sunday? Or Sunday to Saturday!

Answer - A work week is the period between midnight on Saturday and midnight on the Saturday that immediately follows. The working hours are counted between this period.

Reply - Dont depend on CIC now. They have been very slow in updating the statuses on the site. Also, they are not giving the rejection letters to all nowadays. Your friend should start preparing for next intake as soon as possible. If he wants to know the rejection reason then he should order a caipsgcms.com report.

- Ayesha, It should not take more than 2 weeks but now they are all busy trying to finish the applications for Jan intake but dont worry they will do it on time. Book a flight because at the last moment, the tickets will be very expensive plus the winter is going to be really horrible this year. Check the weather forecast so you should try to find an accomodation as soon as possible. get something short term for now like for 2-3 weeks and then find a better one later.

Have not even started my preparations / purchase of any thing yet as i didnt receive my passport .

I know it might sound dumb as after getting the status as "Your application is approved & Submit your passport " , i am still waiting to see the stamped passport for 100% satisfaction : -) ... :-/

U might be aware of the feelings what i have now .. as we got the approval in 3rd attempt which is a miracle for me ..

I should be starting my preparations ..isnt it ????!!!

ofcourse, you should. Dont buy unnecessary things. Just think like you are coming to another mini India. EVERYTHING is available here. The only thing you need is winter clothes which you can buy at huge discount on Boxing day. Dec 26th if you land before that. That is what everybody is telling me. Its already cold here and little depressing. Its very quite everywhere and you cant go everywhere.

In my SOP i said that I'm willing to return to my home country after my studies, as having a degree from abroad will help me get a better job, moreover i also mentioned that i mainly chose canada because it is well known to be one of the safest countries for international students. Plus i wrote that the reason I did not choose a similar degree from a university in tunisia is because the second language there is arabic, do you think that this is good enough? And thanks very much for your time I appreciate it

Upon a complete review of the application, previous academic and employment history and the
reasonableness of undertaking the proposed studies in Canada, I am not satisfied you are a bona
fide student & would depart Canada at end of authorized stay.

My explanation -
The CAIPS notes are specific to your case and background only. What applies to others will not apply to you. The reasons ticked on the rejection letter are not very detailed. The reason being, the letter is in a pre-defined format and the officer does not have any choice so they have to tick the ones that they think is closest to why they are rejecting you. On the letter, you will not find any field, where the officer can actually write their comments in their own words. So, they write their notes in the software that they use called as CAIPS/GCMS. Caips is the old name of the software. You have to order the caips notes to see what they have written there.

You have to be in Canada when you order them otherwise you can ask a friend/relative who is already there to get it for you. If you dont have anybody there, then order through caipsgcms.com.

these notes are helpful but CIC takes 30 days to deliver them.

There are different packages so which packages you choosed ? 75$ or 85$ ? Can you email me your last sop and loe ?

I took the $75. It was little cheaper during my time.If you get it from them, you cant share with anybody.

In my SOP i said that I'm willing to return to my home country after my studies, as having a degree from abroad will help me get a better job, moreover i also mentioned that i mainly chose canada because it is well known to be one of the safest countries for international students. Plus i wrote that the reason I did not choose a similar degree from a university in tunisia is because the second language there is arabic, do you think that this is good enough? Yes, this should be enough. I believe looking at your academic scores and ielts scores, they will grant you the visa. Since, you have covered all the points in the SOP so now fingers crossed
