Hello,

I am preparing to apply to be sponsored by my Canadian partner - I currently live in Canada under a post graduate work permit.

It is possible that my partner will be unemployed at the time of the application. Is this a deal breaker? Or, is it alright if the previous year income is enough? If not, are there alternatives?

I would love to find out asap as my application depends on this...

Thanks very much!

There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor, but the sponsor must be able to demonstrate how they will support you. Additionally, they cannot be collecting social assistance (welfare)
