The eligibility is done in 2-3 stages. First an analyst will review and make a determination. It can be passed or review required. IF it is review required, then see the corresponding note and find is there are any concerns. If no concerns, then the officer or the officer at the LVO will make a final determination and your eligibility will be passed. Usually the LVO officers are given the final word due to their specialized training in the country.
On the gcms notes there is a due date under application assignment, is that when the review should be concluded

The assigned date is a system generated date and is not of much significance. Many applicants see progress way before that date, some keep waiting way past that.

I have a question. According AIP act it is said ANY individual currently present in Canada can apply for GCMS notes. So does this mean someone in canada with a valid visitors status can request GCMS notes?

I have problem regarding my GCMS notes.
Namely, I have ordered notes through third party on the 04 December, and until now I have not received my notes.

Last week I have contacted the agency, and this is the response that they have sent me.

quote:
"We are writing to inform you that the stipulated time frame under the Access to Information Act, within which IRCC has to release GCMS notes has expired and IRCC has not yet released your GCMS notes. The delay could be due to the recent holidays, administrative delays, processing of the application by a different agency, purposeful non-release or any other factor. IRCC does not disclose the reason.

We have filed a status request with IRCC concerning your request. As soon as we hear anything back, we will promptly notify you.

In an eventuality, if we do not hear anything from IRCC in the next 2 weeks, the only resort left would be to file a complaint with the Information Commissioner of Canada (ICC), who oversees the release of information requested under the Access to Information Act. Please be advised that we will only file complaints with ICC if we do not receive a response from IRCC, and only if you are interested in filing the complaint, at no additional cost to you. Further, if the complaint is filed, it has no impact on the processing of your immigration application. All federal agencies have to report the compliance of information requests to ICC anyway.

We, at GET GCMS are committed to providing you the best services and will work diligently towards procuring your GCMS notes as soon as we can. However, we have no control on working of IRCC, but will continue to follow up with them and keep you apprised.

If you may have any questions or concerns in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you."

What does it mean? Would I get my notes, what is happening with my application?
I am PNP applicant, AOR 19 Feb 2017, my BG status is IP2.

Thanks in advance

In some cases IRCC delays the release of GCMS notes. It does not mean that there is anything wrong, but just that the time within which IRCC has to release the notes has expired.

The delay is usually caused when your application is nearing approval and PPR is on the way. As the application is being finalized, the request to release info is not immediately given. This is for most applicants who are on the last end of the PR process.

For other, the release is delayed due to administrative reasons, and IRCC is notorious when it comes to responding. So if the notes are delayed and there is no response from IRCC, then a complaint can be filed with ICC.

Yes, but one has to have an address and phone number. Sometimes IRCC does call or send the info by post.

Hi @legalfalcon

Just a short opinion. 3 months after R10 is passed no security screening activities. Security activity blank (guess it's started). Is it possible security screening to be activated in this stage of my application or it clearly starts immediately after R10.
If I stay in regular security check what is the worst case scenario on waiting for PPR? Everything else is passed

Thanks
Appreciate your help

If the security activity on page 2 of the GCMS is blank, then it is in progress as the information related to security is retracted.

I know I am in regular timeline, but I actually added my spouse after PPR, which supposed to take 4-8 weeks to get fresh PPRs.

Do you think it's possible security screening to be activated in this stage of my application or it clearly starts immediately after R10??

Just one question.
Regarding to this statement: quote: "processing of the application by a different agency" , is it possible that this delay be linked to extended security screening?

And after the complaint, will I get my GCMS notes?

YEs, when application are sent to RCMP, CBSA etc. the agency has to give clearance before the GCMS are released. After the complaint is filed with ICC, it investigates the case and the GCMS notes are release subsequently as IRCC has an obligation to release GCMS within 30 days, or seek extension and notify.
