My statues online is as below :
  1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on October 16, 2017.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 1, 2017.
But why haven't I received by mail either the receipt or study book? Is it normal? if not, what should I do?
Thanks & Merry Xmas folks
You received AOR through email. Click on "Discover Canada" hyperlink to access the book. So you won't receive AOR nor Book through the mail.

I am also literally shocked what people are doing here. They are following others situations and based on that, they are making a decision. Although they are giving now AOR to November beginning applicants, that doesn't mean that all October applicants have received their AOR. Patience is gold. What urge somebody has to have to apply the second time and maybe even third time? I would really like CIC to punish those impatient ones and to learn them lessons of patience. Maybe because their multiple applications are an additional blockage.
Well, those applicants punish themselves: I bet processing duplicate applications takes more time, as officers have to figure out the way around it. It’s like ping pong. One ball is ok. Try playing with two at once.

I'm just wondering if the anxiety and impatience in regards to the wait to get AOR that is causing some to submit multiple applications (admittedly to a varying degree of success, if you believe the posts), what are these folks going to do when there is a delay to "In Process" status? What about the wait between IP and test invitations?
Grab pitchforks and storm CPCs is the only logical next step.

There is nothing called double processing, if the application is received and checked it is entered in the system so there is no duplicate the 2nd application will be thrown away or destroyed as it contains confidential information , what you are saying doesn't make sense

So what are you suggesting , just keep waiting for a 12 months and then start acting, if you don't like people complaining about their bad luck for not receiving at least AOR till now while others are wondering about the oath date simply don't follow this thread
Having an AOR it means you application exists, and not lost , regardless if they started processing it or not

Not knowing what is happening sucks and i don't blame people for reapplying, you should blame the incompetency of IRCC for not following FIFO protocol, i bet if you were in the same boat you would be doing teh same and if not more

I know what AOR means. And no, I have more patience than that. My AOR was delayed by a few weeks (more than average), but the thought of sending another application never crossed my mind. Sure, this may not seem like a big deal compared to people who have been waiting 2 months. I know it sucks, but sending more applications one after the other is obviously not the solution, when these applicants are clearly still getting AOR, be it delayed.

We have a spreadsheet that clearly shows several people who haven't gotten AOR, even those who applied mid Oct. Do you really believe ALL those applications are lost ? Sure, IRCC is incompetent, but is that really news to you ? You must be new to Canada.

Thumb up for your powerful words. Again, those people just keep telling you to wait and wait while they are waiting for their oath day. Once they are done, they will never come back again or advise you.
I am with you, I just need to know where is my application. You call CIC and submit a request online and you have the tracking information and they tell you that they are not able to locate your application.
Got lost in the mailroom or on its way back or an elf took it away from the office. Nobody knows.
This is the 10th week I am waiting and no one is able to find my application.
Someone here submitted his app on Oct. 14th, got his AOR on Oct. 28, in process on Nov. 14th and his test date on Jan. 08th. So, please someone can tell how the process goes? And why ours take that looong time just to tell if they are existent or not?

Ok, can you give us a just simple answer: why they delay those applications in particular and why they are not done yet with Oct. apps before moving to Nov.?

Mind your business. Do not bother yourself about others.

Well, I asked IRCC the same question a while back. See their response in the screenshot below.

As for why certain applications are delayed has been addressed before. Of course, it's just a theory but it fits. Long story short, the delayed applications landed on the desk of either a slow officer, or an officer who could've taken time off and is now trying to catch up, or a combination of the two. It is safe to assume that every officer works at a different pace, right ? Some faster than others. These fast officers are the ones that have moved on to November applications, while others are trying to clear the backlog. This is what I believe is happening.

Do keep in mind that this is holiday season. IRCC is already and probably will be short staffed till next week, or maybe even first week of January.
