Hello legalfalcon
May i plz know if we can travel by land with existing work visa or pg wrk permit. (i mean while coming to canada from states.) or
Once the landing procedure is done every other visa is not more valid? And we have to wait for pr card or apply prtd?if we want to travel further.

Hello @legalfalcon

You might remember me from a short while back. "Have been waiting for 18 months since AOR" guy. Well, its 19 months now. Anyways, i just received the latest GCMS notes and they don't seem to be much different than the old ones. I thought i could ask you about them. I went through the posts you made about GCMS but i still have trouble understanding the exact status of my application. I know that its stuck at the Security Screening but not really sure about anything else. Hopefully you can clear it out for me. I've cropped the parts that (i think) will be useful. if you need any other information please let me know and i'll send the link over to you. Unfortunately i can't copy+paste them in word format. I really appreciate your help, thank you. https://www.dropbox.com/s/wwiuadghicen1q3/gcmsFull.jpg?dl=0
Based on the screenshot, your security is in progress and your eligibility is passed. Since I can't see the agent notes, can't say more.

Hi Legalfalcon,

Hope you are doing good, I have quick question for you when we make an inquiry using call center is that information recorded in the gsmc notes(what kind of comments are punched in). Does calling cic call center before 6 months mark can put a negative effect on the application.

Thanks,
If there is anything significant, then an entry will be made in the system which simply states that a call was made and the information provided or the action recommended.

Calling the call centre does not impact your application, but when you know that the processing time is 6 months, then why unnecessarily call them.
Also, remember that the 6 months processing time starts from the day the R10 is passed, not when you file the application.

Hey @legalfalcon
In order to have sufficient funds in the account for migration, is it okay for an applicant to accept 2 gift deeds (one from father and another one from sister). I initially only uploaded my account summary but then CIC asked me for 6 month statements and then another inquiry where they asked me to provide details for the large transactions on my account. 2 of them are gift deeds from family members. I have read most people only accept one gift deed so would it be unusual to provide 2 even though both are coming from family members and consist of the largest portions on my statements. My account has more than requiredfunds so do I need to provide details for all my large deposits or just enough to proof sufficient funds as required?
You can have multiple gift deeds, that is not an issue as long as you have a gift deed and it is documented.

@legalfalcon,
will this holiday season effect updates or process of my application? i checked official holidays are on 25,26 and 1st jan. only.
It does have a slight impact as the offices are closed and a lot of tourist visas are filed. But it does not impact much.

Hi @legalfalcon

I had 2 queries regarding my reference letter from work. I am claiming points from a government organisation I worked for 1 year. I have acquired the letter from the organisation in the prescribed format except these 2 things.

1. The organisation does not have a letterhead, they only have an official stamp for authentication. Will that cause any issue?
2. As I was only a temporary bonded employee for 1 year I did not have an employee number. I will be providing my salary slips and form 16 too for additional proof but do I need to do anything else?
Thank you in advance for your help.
1. explain this in the LoE.
2. All you need is :
  • A letter from the employer(s) offering the job in Canada is required, and it must
    • be printed on company letterhead and include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information (address, telephone number and email address), and the name, title and signature of the applicant’s proposed immediate supervisor or personnel officer; and
    • include the following details: expected start date, commitment that the applicant will be employed on a continuous, paid, full-time work, for work that is for at least one year after issuance of a permanent resident visa, job title, duties and responsibilities, current job status (if current job), number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.
If you have the above, you are all good. You can add additional documents, such as offer letter, pay slips, tax documents etc.

Yes, you ca enter Canada at any PoE, land, sea, or air. Usually the work visas and PGWP are multiple entry visas, and you can enter and exit multiple times.

It takes 2-5 weeks after the medical records are transmitted for IRCC to evaluate the medicals and clear the record.

Dear @legalfalcon

This is my query related to POF.

As gift deed might be fine and depends on the discretion of the VO, hence to remain totally safe I thought of highlighting 3000 CAD out of my 12300 CAD as a FD which will be transferred from my mother's account approximately 1+ month before me getting my ITA. So my questions are-

1. If I opened my bank account one month prior to getting ita in this bank where I ll be keeping FD, will it be okay?

2. For this 3000 CAD, If I show my FD receipt, a letter from bank clarifying liquidity, notarized gift deed, bank statement showing the transfer from her account to mine, and LOE explaining the process, DO you think it will be 100% okay ? Or I need to change or add something?

3. I ll show the remaining 9500 CAD as FD in a financial institution (its not bank but a finance company) and it was kept 1 year back in my name. So, will it be okay if I show the FD receipt and bank letter only for this amount?

Thanks for your reply : )

Firstly, Many thanks Manmeet for all your help thus far in helping many souls like us accomplishing PPR.

Quick question: Do you know what happens after PPR till the visa stamping/endorsement? The reason being, it's now taking a minimum of 20 or sometimes even 30 days to get the COPR- almost all LVOs report out this turnaround time.

Has this COPR phenomenon now supplanted the 'golden PPR email'? Welcome your thoughts. Thanks again.
