where is your local CIC office located? looks like the test invite not related to whether or not get FP request, based on your timeline

Question, My previous passport was expired when I submitted my application and couldn't renew it in time.
1. Didn't know I need a valid one and mine expired six months earlier... had no travel plans
2. Stupid Conservatives closed down the Iranian embassy in Ottawa and it costs a lot more to renew our passports which we have to send to the US for renewal.

I put in the reason box that I have no travel plans and that there's no embassy in Ottawa.

Does anyone has a similar experience? I've renewed my passport since because I now have travel plans. Is it a good idea to send a copy to CIC or wait if they ask for it?

If they ask me for test or oath while I'm away, can I ask them to delay it to another date?

Having a valid passport is not a requirement for applying for Canadian citizenship. But since you have one now you can submit it's copy online. Postponing your test or oath dates will delay your application. They will be all too pleased to do that.

Can someone tell me about filling the section 9. in the form,

we are supposed to provide them the date when my temporary finished in the Canada. I think I should mention the One day before I became permanent resident. For instance, I became Permanent resident on 20 April so the date my temporary status was finished on 19 April? is it correct or I have to mention 20 April for both cases?

so i assume that you havent applied yet, and putting your application for the first time...
I think you may get better luck by going to october or november forum. Remember, after we applied, rule changed (on Oct 11). So everyone on this forum has filled a different application than you are filling.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that my test/oath would be before march since I applied in sept (Vancouver) but it seems my application is being delayed for some reason compared to other Vancouver applicants. So if they ask me to attend oath in march, I will have to delay it as I already have all flights booked and will be away for 2 months.
