Sydney, Australia VO has sent a request for me to send a NZ Police background Check on the 6th December. What is odd is that I've already submitted to them a schedule A which includes a signature from me to give them authority to do this background check on my behalf. I now have to send the request to NZ police myself even after emailing them two weeks ago to ask if its correct that they do it or do I do it, to which they replied not to worry as they request it later.

It appears the process of Background Checks has changed for NZ citizens in the last few months and older applications (like July etc) are having to request the background check themselves.

Not really an issue, just a small road bump on the road to PR

They requested mine before medicals. TO which i sent back to them. It includes where you have lived and worked for the last 10 years. Included was a form that i signed giving CIC auth to background check on my behalf with the NZ Police. They have just sent an email saying I now need to get one myself to send to them.

The CIC website updated in late October prior to this update it said CIC will handle the background check and I don't need to submit one. Now it says I submit one.

Hi guys, I am a July applicant and I have a quick question.
We got engaged in February 28, 2017 and we had applied for TRV for my husband in March 25, 2017 and in my invitation letter to him I called him "very close friend" instead of "Fiance" at that time. We got married on May 18, 2017 and applied for spouse sponsorship in July. Would it be considered misrepresentation of information since I called him friend instead of fiance at that time? In our Spousal application we told them that we got engaged in February 28 and married on May 18, sending photos of all functions and ceremonies.
