For proof of fund, you must get official letters from any banks or financial institutions where you are keeping money.
Letter(s) must:
  • be printed on the financial institution’s letterhead
  • include their contact information (address, telephone number and email address)
  • include your name
  • list outstanding debts such as credit card debts and loans
  • include, for each current bank and investment account:
    • account numbers
    • the date each account was opened
    • the current balance of each account
    • the average balance for the past six months
So, if you can't get a letter from the bank with all the requirements, it is recommended to upload the statements of the past six months. Good Luck!

Hi,

Even I have a similar situation, started accumulating in August. Our consultant had said that even 3 months balance can be shown.

Personally, I think that if the current balance is higher than min requirements, and your salary levels are decent to justify the same, it shouldn't be a problem since the objective is to check for funds capability.

Hi everyone.
Just to clarify, does that mean that the amount must be shown in at least 4 bank statements ?

My sister and I are in the process of applying for study permit.
But I had a few questions.

1) for proof of funds (provided by our parents) we have to show four months of bank statements containing the tuition amount?
Ex) if my tuition is 20,000cad and hers is 15,000 cad does the account have to show 35000+ 11000 per person and an additional 5000 per person for the last 4 months??

Which would total to $56000 ?

2) If this amount is in a savings account but not in a checking account, will that hinder us?

Well in my case I took a FD after receiving ITA. However I made sure there was money in my account before that. I have also provided a letter from the bank to further strengthen my case. I have not provided any bank statements nor have they asked for it.

Well the estimated time is maximum of 6 months, however most of us here have got PPR within a span of 3-4 months. It really depends on your profile. There early people who received it within a month. So it's a wait and see situation and good luck to you.
