I said the same thing to myself last week however nothing happened... I don't think one has much to lose if re-submitting now. Strongly advise preparing documents this weekend and submitting on Monday.
What would happen if after you submit a second application, you receive AOR for the first one ? Would IRCC put your first application on hold till you withdraw the second one ? Could it lead to more delays ? These are the questions you should be asking. I think as long as there are others on this forum who applied around the same time as you and are also still waiting, it's better to wait it out than submit another application. High chance that it's just buried under a pile of other applications.

Meantime doesn't hurt to start prepping another application package.

I know it sucks. I was super frustrated myself, to the point that I was spamming their facebook and twitter for answers. After almost 6 weeks of wait, I did finally get the AOR.

Are you also October 13Applicant like me? If yes, then I think better wait one more week, but if you have applied before October 13 then you can go ahead and reapply.

I am aware of your concern. The agent at call centre said 100% sure that application has been returned. Believe it or not, I, at least, got the justification to re-apply. Holding the first one till withdrawing the second one is ridiculous. Only the opposite can happen and it happens only when you have AOR for the first one. My guess is IRCC itself lost my application. It's very likely to happen due to huge amounts of applications and their reputation of irresponsibility and careless.

Yes but I would advise you double-check your first application then decide. It's up to you to wait or not. As I said, it's very likely IRCC lost our applications and if that's the case nothing you can do but re-apply. They wouldn't even admit that fact.

Delay in processing application is acceptable but saying that CIC may have lost Registered mail and better to reapply is a very bad response from CIC call center. What do you think does Facebook message works? do they reply to Facebook messages.? If yes. Then should we message or comment on CIC Facebook.

Yes, they do reply to facebook and twitter messages. I've had more success on getting a response on facebook than twitter.

Following is their page. I usually leave comments on their existing posts, and I also tag them with "@CitCanada"

I suppose that makes sense that they would hold the second one till you withdraw. Are you aware of any mistakes that you may have made on your application ?

And yes, they do lose applications. My friend's application was lost last year despite being signed for.

How does your friend know whether or not it's lost? How does IRCC deal with this? Thanks.

He waited a year and didn't hear anything back (no AOR), so he just reapplied. IRCC doesn't take responsibility for lost applications.

Honestly, I'm not sure why he waited so long to reapply. I think he wasn't in a rush to become a citizen, nor was he familiar with the process of receiving AOR. He assumed application was in process till a year passed.

I think it's very likely that IRCC lost several application packages. That's why they instruct the employees at call center to encourage applicants to reapply.

if we're going to re-apply, should we use the same 'receipt of payment' we used for the first application? or make a new payment and try to cancel the first payment? somehow I worry we get screwed over this once more!

I think the same payment should be fine.

seems like many applications which are missing, were delivered to Ryan Laurendeau on October 13th. Is there anyone whose application were delivered to Ryan on Oct 13th and they received AOR? he is on facebook and Linkedin. maybe we should ask him where did he lose our applications. no creepy at all right? lol

Yes, mine was delivered to him on 13 oct. He may have paced the packages in another place, one option is to talk with our member of parliament and see if they could be of assistance. I searched in Facebook, we can not be sure that it is him.

You are panicking, and please stop spreading you panic to other members of this forum.

Stop, relax, rethink and regroup. IRCC received 6 times more citizenship applications in October that in any of the other months of this year. So there is no need for you to create "where is my AOR" threads, or "I must to re-aply" , or "they likely lost applications" posts.
