20000 individual persons. not 20000 applications.

In general, Arournd 8000 to 10,000 applications, there are 20000 indidual persons.

I'm talking about cases= applications , 20000 ea for 3 last years but there are only 20000 visas = persons in 1 year.
so for 1 application it might be 1 to 7 visas when you have 4-5 bro/sisters

yes you got it.

Target is 20000 visas in year 2017 and 20000 visas in 2018.

This 20000 is not number for applications.

I am one of the less fortunate ones whose app was not selected in random lottery. Will the spots open up in the future for 2017 lottery applicants if a few of those got selected are not eligible/denied? Will the process be the same next year as well?

2017 already had two rounds. 2018 is next, the process hasn't been announced yet. Good luck!

What is the number of family member on this application?
- The total number of people listed as DEPENDENT on IMM-5768 or
- Number of people that are planing to come to Canada as part of the application.

Use file number along with applicant's info, skip passport section, for number of people include only adults (sponsoring and sponsored both). After ecas, it takes a few days before you could link the app.

I was not aware of 2 additional rounds. Were I suppose to apply for those rounds? Did not receive any communication about it from IRCC.

IRCC selected from the same initial entries for both rounds.

My case, If anyone can help...

I got lottery in second round. To check my eligibility, I called couple of CIC call center agent to review my case and guide me. All agents suggested me to submit with "explanation letter and explanation supporting documents". I also mentioned their agent number as reference in explanation letter...

Here's my situation..

In 2014, my annual salary was according to LICO, but I couldn't work half of the year because of immigration restoration process, and I was on work permit..!!
I got my PR in July-2015 ... I meet criteria of 2015 LICO (based on family size 3- me & parents)
I meet criteria of 2016 LICO (based on family size 3 & 4 )
I got married in May-2017 , her undertaking is still in process under outland spouse sponsorship family class application.
My 2016, 2017 income is way more beyond than LICO of family size 4 ...!!

All CIC agents suggested me to write down family size 4 in every form , but CIC will consider my eligibility based on family size 3, because 2014,2015,2016 I had family size 3...!
All CIC agents , suggested me that I should apply with explanation letter, because I wasn't PR in 2014...!! I will be considered as "New comer" of 2015..!

Did anyone face similar situation..??

I took chance, submitted my application on Nov-9-2017..!! Mississuga received on 12 Nov-2017..!! Please add me in that spreadsheet. I'm from INDIA

The agents were wrong.

If your family size is 4 today, then you must meet family size of 4 back in 2014. It doesn't matter if you were on work permit for just half the year, if you don't meet the income based on your 2014 tax return, you don't qualify. There is no discretion possible by the visa officers and no explanations accepted, this is stated very clearly in the manuals.

So if you already submitted while not meeting 2014 LICO for your family size today, you should expect your app to eventually be rejected.

Also while waiting for rejection, you may miss out in applying in later years when you actually do qualify.
