I'm planning on returning to the US around Christmas. I have a valid post-graduate work permit and a valid US passport. However, the passport will expire next June, which is SLIGHTLY less than 6 months after the Christmas holiday.

My question is, will I receive any trouble re-entering Canada after my visit home is finished? Thanks in advance to anyone with info on this specific situation!

edit: I also have an outland spousal sponsorship application in the works if that affects the answer.

There is no 6 month validity requirement in Canada, so you should have no issues entering because of that.

Note that when your PR app is approved, your COPR won't be valid for longer than your passport. Your app will likely be done well before that but just keep it in mind in case the processing runs longer.

Thank you canuck_in_uk! Very useful information on both accounts.
