Hi Guys. Anyone knows if the Sri Lankan police clearance certificate which is to my knowledge given online, works well? Or the traditional way still works better? I applied according to the new system in March 25th 2017 and I got Police Certificate request Nov 03rd/2017 (yesterday)

If the online (new) system is "reliable" Its convenient to apply online no? Would save my need to go to Colombo Police HQ. And How about fingerprints? Are we still giving it "online"? It would be a great help If some one sheds lights on the new police clearance system.

I have applied for sponsorship of my wife and still waiting as well. Below is my time line. Does anyone know how long you got to wait after medical is passed (it shows as medical passed on gc key)?

Visa Office: Colombo
Application Submission: March 25, 2017
AOR: April 8, 2017
Schedule A request: April 10, 2017
Med Request: August 22, 2017
Med Passed: Sep 11, 2017

Okey, Ill share my Timeline. Mine is a strange case though. I lived in Canada (study/work) for the past 10 years and got married there(2016) and living in Sri Lanka after my marriage (my work permit expired) last year . SO yeah hoping to get back to my marriage

My timeline

Application Documents sent : February 20th 2017
Acknowledge letter : March 4th
Schedule A requested : March 6th
Schedule A submitted : March 7th
File Transferred to Colombo : March 21st
Medicals Requested : July 25th
Medicals Done : August 4th
Medicals passed : ? (Around August End)
Pre Arrival service : Nov 1st
Police Cert requested : Nov 3rd

To my knowledge If all the documents are done properly and no other complications it usually takes 8- 12 months(New or Old systems)

Thank you. So the e-police certificate is not the best idea? I am going to call the HQ today and follow their instructions. If they recommend me to apply directly I am going to go tomorrow. I hope its not that hard to get police reports. Back then it was very lengthy and difficult. And not to mention the police drag the process for bribes . Hope the police is good now.

I got pre-arrival service letter/request on Nov 2nd and Today I got letter to submit the passport. I know it's really painful to go through the wait but don't worry guys...you will be getting the visa soon. I also heard from one of my friend that couple of others got passport request within last couple of days. Hopefully they will try to finish up the pending applications by December. Wow ,congrats .how did u get the passport request .through email or post ? Bcoz I have moved to another place and have to check on the posts at my previous recidence too.
