To my understanding, if you have a Non-restricted PNP, You can switch between the jobs and just let the CIC guys know about it. But if you are close to PPR/DM, even if you quit/change job just keep it to low about it and wait for the PPR. If I were in your situation this is what I would do. Again this is just my opinion

I called three weeks ago that time agent told me to wait one month.... now they r guving next March deadline!!! That’s so ridiculous... what they think we r idiots or what... this is clearly partiality with paper file applicants... now Christmas holidays r here they have excuse for not working if they go now then they will come back in January.. don’t know when we will get dm or ppr...

I submitted my work permit application on July 28 and it has already passed the processing time of 80 days.
My main concern is that I am visiting Pakistan from Nov 26 - Dec 15, and I will need a visa to come back from Pakistan. Bought the tickets and everything planned out [long distance marriage, husband coming from Australia so that we can both meet there].

Initially I forgot but later I provided IMM5257 Schedule 1 via WebForm on 08/08/2017 which was forwarded it to the responsible office on 15/08/2017. I called the CIC Call Centre about it on Tuesday and first I was told that my days will count starting 15/08/2017 (which showed his lack of knowledge as that was an optional doc and my application was originally complete) and then he said I cannot apply for the work permit and visa in one application therefore he would discard the Schedule 1 that was submitted later.
I did not trust his words so if any of you guys have a first hand experience I would like to know if visa will some with my work permit and if not and I apply online, would a separate visa come in the mail without sending them my passport or what?

There should b some base on which u will get visa.... if ur work permit is expired and u have applied before it’s expiry date then even u apply visa and wok permit together u will get work permit first and then visa and for visa stamp u need to send ur original passport to Ontario... and be advised that there r two separate applications for work permit and visa ... u need to attach a copy of ur work permit in visa application then they will give u visa till the expiry date of work permit..

I got my MR in the last week of April, 2016 and I did my Medicals on May 10th.
After that, I didn't get any updates from CIC. I am so fed up with the process, because my PNP took 13 months. Its more than 17 months now for my PR. I got screwed for last 3 years. So stressful, no proper hikes. Everyday praying, checking mail, checking status. Lost hope!!!

Everyone is doing the same here Miracle ... my file received 16 may 2016 did medical on 8th May 2017 bg in process since September 20 2017 nothing after that... as I’m reading posts in this fourm people r saying they r giving next year’s deadline now for some April and May applicants... god knows what will happen and when this whole drama will end...

I have as well. when did you apply for WP ? and have you applied for both in one application? or do we need to apply for visa separately?

Don't loose hope, I know we all are going through hard time and its now more difficult to be patient as its been a long time. Negative thoughts will bring negativity in life. I think in Nov first week we all will hear good news unless someone has complicated case.

In regard to going home, it depends on visa validity and employer. I have been outside of country more than 5 times during this federal process but going back as a permanent resident with no immigration tension is a gem.

I cancelled my trip. My wedding was planned for Dec and all arrangements was done. Everything cancelled because of CIC. So much money wasted in cancelling of all arrangements..Totally frustrated
