Dear Forum inhabitants,

Please help me clarify what i have to fill in the family section - the system does not want to show this section as complete. I know which sub-sections (points 1 and 4 mentioned below) contradict with each other, and that is why it does not let me finish the whole Family section. Here those fields are:

1) We need to know some information about ******** *****s family. Tell us about his/her family.
How many family members does ******** ***** have? (This includes ******** *****, a spouse or partner, dependent children, and their dependent children.) The question button specifically mentions NOT to include parents here.

I DO NOT HAVE SPOUSE/PARTNER, ANY CHILDREN OR DEPENDENT CHILDREN MY ANSWER IS '1'

.....

4) Please tell us about ******** *****'s immediate family members that have not been identified in the application.

This includes any parent, any spouse or common-law partner, any child including adult children, and any brothers or sisters. If the relative is deceased, provide the date of death.
• Check the list at the bottom of the form first to see information you have already saved.
• When you click "Save and Add", each relative's details will be saved to the list.
• The fields will go blank to let you add details about another relative.
• Use the modify or delete button if you want to change details that you have already saved to the list.

I HOPE MY UNDERSTANDING IS CORRECT AND I HAVE TO INCLUDE ALL IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS I HAVE AND WHO ARE NOT GOING TO CANADA

I HAVE PARENTS AND A SISTER (of course, they stay in my home country), but when I include them, the system does not want to be completed and it keeps sending me to the point No. 1) where I indicated '1'. Once I deleted the list of my immediate relatives and saved, the section is shown as "completed".

I follow the logic of the instructions, but if I have the section completed at any cost without indicating the info about my immediate relatives "that have not been identified in the application", I am afraid that I may have the issues in the future. Please share your experience, thanks in advance !

Re: POST ITA application discrepancy

another glitch in the system - please disregard my previous post. I did the same actions in a a while - all worked out.

At the same time, I noticed another discrepancy in the system - once you are going to sign out from your ITA application, the system asks you "are you sure you want to exit?" and below there is a sign "You have 60 days, including today, to complete this application or profile". After you go one step out (to the page where your current and withdran profiles are listed and above them ITA application table is located), in one of the fields of this table it says something like 90 "days left to submit".

So where is the truth - 60 or 90 days to apply?

I understand that completely, but how many people will be misled by this info - this is the federal level, no such mistakes should be allowed. I work as a paralegal and just cannot ignore such things :D

Hi there!

What did you do in this case. Did you add your relatives details that will not be going with you to Canada or do you keep it as one person. I am also wondering about the same.

I did everything again a bit later exactly as I described in the quoted post. At that time everything worked. I guess that was a system glitch.

All the best !!

Hi, I have a question on behalf of my friend. She has a masters degree from Canada and her spouse is a college dropout, so his highest level of education is a high school diploma. They both plan to apply for the express entry with the wife as the primary applicant. So the question is, will the husband's level of education affect their chances of getting ITA or PR?

Thank you for your prompt response.
Just to confirm, you added your mum's and sister's details, even though they will not be coming with you to canada.

Thank you!

That's right, I added personal details of my immediate family members, even though I am coming to Canada alone.

hi
I have a similar question.
who all are the relatives they are asking about in the question: does "the applicant" have relatives who are PR holders/citizens in canada?

Does it mean immediate relatives like the following :
1. own parents
2. own grandparents
3. Own Sibling
4. uncle/aunt- siblings of own parents
5. nephew/niece: children of own uncle/aunts

or does it mean distant relatives as well: like children of maternal grandmother's sister etc.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi Members,

My Wife will be accompanying me to Canada and her name is listed as accompanying applicant.

So under personal details in family section for primary applicant (me) , do I need to list her as well?
The first statement says not to yet the second statement mentions about spouse, bit confused.

"Please tell us about *****'s immediate family members that have not been identified in the application.
This includes any parent, any spouse or common-law partner, any child including adult children, and any brothers or sisters. If the relative is deceased, provide the date of death."
