I mean will my application be weak as they can say to me that you are an official visitor representing your country so you do not need a protection

Another question, will they give me a place to live in as soon as I apply for an assylum?
No - you should bring funds with you to support yourself. If your refugee application is accepted, you can apply for a work permit. But that takes some time.

You will have to prove that you meet the refugee requirements and require protection.

Yes you will be given a place to live if necessary but it could be in a homeless shelter. If you have the means to stay somewhere else I would recommend trying to stay somewhere else because as a single male you may end up in some tough conditions.

Quick correction. If you qualify for welfare you can apply for a work permit so that hopefully the Canadian taxpayer no longer has to support you. Given that you are in Canada for a conference it will probably be determined that you can support yourself.
