Hi, I hope someone here can help me out.
I'm planning on travelling to Canada as a tourist, so I made my application online and submitted it last month, September 26.
This month, two days ago (October 17) I received a mail requesting my original passport. It said:
"This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application."
I tried to search for people who got the same/similar mail and from what I found it seemed like this was pretty much an approval of the visa and that by requesting the passport the only thing left was to stamp it and return it to the applicant.
I sent all the things they asked me to, the consent forms, printed letter, passport, etc. And now I got a mail saying my application has been processed and that:
"Your application will be dispatched to the Canada Visa Office in Manila as today’s application accordingly."
I live in Japan, and I recently find out that the visa office in Manila is the one responsible for the visitor visa application forms here.
My questions are:
1) Does this mean I haven't been approved yet for the visa?
2) Does anyone know what are the chances of them rejecting my application after asking for my original passport? and
4) Approximately how long does it take to get an official answer?
I'd appreciate if anyone could help me here. Thanks in advance!
