Original Passport Request - Help

Hi, I hope someone here can help me out.
I'm planning on travelling to Canada as a tourist, so I made my application online and submitted it last month, September 26.
This month, two days ago (October 17) I received a mail requesting my original passport. It said:

"This is in reference to your application for temporary residence. A decision has been made on your application. We require your passport to finalize processing your application."

I tried to search for people who got the same/similar mail and from what I found it seemed like this was pretty much an approval of the visa and that by requesting the passport the only thing left was to stamp it and return it to the applicant.

I sent all the things they asked me to, the consent forms, printed letter, passport, etc. And now I got a mail saying my application has been processed and that:

"Your application will be dispatched to the Canada Visa Office in Manila as today’s application accordingly."

I live in Japan, and I recently find out that the visa office in Manila is the one responsible for the visitor visa application forms here.
My questions are:

1) Does this mean I haven't been approved yet for the visa?
2) Does anyone know what are the chances of them rejecting my application after asking for my original passport? and
4) Approximately how long does it take to get an official answer?

I'd appreciate if anyone could help me here. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

1) Does this mean I haven't been approved yet for the visa?
In most cases, yes. Passport requests means visa approvals. However, one cannot be too sure until the processed passport is returned.

2) Does anyone know what are the chances of them rejecting my application after asking for my original passport?
There is a slim chance

4) Approximately how long does it take to get an official answer?
You'll know when the 'Final decision' status changes to 'Approved and closed'

Hey, thank you for your help! But on that last question I meant it more as in what's the estimate amount of time as in how many days, weeks or months does it generally take for someone to get any response from the office?

If you send a Case Specific Enquiry, it could take up to a month to get a response from the visa office
