Hi,

I will appreciate it if someone could answer my question. My question is related to the time completion towards citizenship. I am planning to do PhD in McGill University that is in Quebec, and also planning to apply for Canadian PR based on EE, skilled worker. I expect to receive ITA with six months of beginning my PhD. In this case, how should I proceed for PR? Further, if I continue my studies after getting PR card, will that time count towards my citizenship? Thanks for your time to answer these questions.

Thanks,

Pre-Assessed..
Since you're applying via EE you must have the intention to reside outside the province of Quebec.

1 - If you choose any city in Quebec as your intended destination then your application will get cancelled.
2 - If you choose a city outside the province of Quebec then you'll receive a request to write a letter of intent in which you'll have to convince the processing officer of your intention to reside outside of Quebec.

No comment on citizenship.

Many thanks for your reply "DelPiero07". I think I did not explain my question very well. I was asking if I go to Canada on "Study Visa" to study in Quebec. During that time, I get my PR. Even though, my long term goals will not be to stay in Quebec, but I will have to be there to complete my studies. What could be the best way to deal this issue? thanks

That goes back to what I said. What reason do you have to apply via EE while living/studying in Quebec? How will you prove that you intent to reside outside of Quebec?

You have to figure out the answer to those questions.

I think I got your point. Just one more thing, if I study in Ontario, then applying for PR based on EE should not be an issue, right?
