New requirement for police certificate

Hi,
I received an invitation to apply. The police certificate requirement appears to have changed. Previously it was required for any country you have lived in for 6 months continuously since 18th birthday. Now, the requirement is any country you have lived, visited or worked in for 6 months cumulatively. So for instance if you visited a country for two months, left for a few years, returned and visited for another four months then you require a police certificate from that country. This was the example I saw in documents to attach in my ITA. This will be an arduous task for travellers! Can someone please confirm and explain this

Yup its correct, any country that you have visited if the total time spent is six months or more. In the example you posted you will need a police clearance. Basically consider any country that you have spent time in (cumulatively) no matter the purpose, if this adds up to 6 months then you'll need the police clearance.

This has been the requirement for some time now.
