Hi All,

I am Jagan from India. I am looking to migrate to Canada on PR visa, as a process I was successful in filing my profile in express entry pool with CRS of 394. The hard time is that it is been more than an year now, i have not seen any improvement in my process. Happen to apply for many opportunities and was not successful in cracking opportunity, by the way the NOC I fall under is 1121. I am reopening my file in express entry pool hoping that i will be able to get the PR this time. However I have couple of question here.

1. Will I be considered for the job opportunities that are in Canada.
2. Is there any link between Visa and opportunities to crack an offer
3. Is there any other best way that I can follow to get the visa soon.

I'm confused. Are you trying to get a work permit, or are you trying to get Permanent Residency? Permanent Residency isn't a visa :)
To answer your questions (assuming you're interested in obtaining Permanent Residency through the Express Entry programme)...

1. You will be considered for job opportunities if you apply for them, just like anyone else. If you apply now, you likely won't get through as you don't currently have work authorization to work in Canada (I assume). If you get permanent residency, you will be considered for any job you apply for, as would anyone else who has work authorization. But there are other factors that come into play in being considered for a job (qualifications, work experience (especially CANADIAN work experience), your competition, etc.). In short, permanent residency doesn't guarantee employment; it only opens the door a bit more since you'll already have work authorization which will be one less obstacle to overcome.

2. There is no link between having permanent residency and getting a job offer other than, as I already mentioned, overcoming one of the obstacles in obtaining a job, which is already having work authorization.

3. There is nothing you can do to get Permanent Residency sooner, other than increasing your CRS Score to secure an Invitation to Apply (ITS) for permanent residency sooner (a score of 394 is not currently considered high enough to get an ITA. You would need to increase is to at least 435. The most effective method of doing this appears to be increasing your language test (IELTS/CELPIP) scores if possible. Trying to obtain a valid offer of employment in Canada is not seen as a very effective method of increasing a CRS Score, as it is next to impossible to obtain a valid offer of employment in Canada if you're not currently living in and authorized to work in Canada, don't have Canadian work experience, don't currently work for a Company that has Canadian offices and is willing to transfer you there, and don't have amazing personal connections/contacts in Canada who could do you a favor by helping to land you a job.

To reiterate again, Express Entry is not an employment or work visa programme; it's a permanent residency programme.

Thank you for the response. this is a real help for me. Yes my intention is to get PR. would definitely try to increase my score through IELTS, and will keep continuing to apply for the job opportunities.

I would be glad if you can let me know if there are any other smart moves that I can do to get the PR.

No smart moves really other than increasing your IELTS or the PNP option. Good luck.
