If weather is your only problem, Alaska is your ultimate solution. It is north and with a very nice wildlife.
As you might guess from my screen name, Donald Trump is my main problem that gave me the idea of emigrating from the US. But yes, before I thought of emigrating, I did consider Alaska.

The state pays you to live there too!
No, it does not. And it's still part of Trumpland. Northern Canada is better :)

Yes. I think Canada will still be quicker for me. Also, I like Canada as a location much better. I am in the US and getting really sick of the hot summers. Australia gets even hotter, and it's really remote for someone like me who is from the US and will continue to have some business interests here even after I move. Canada has plenty of cooler locations, especially up north, and I have heard it is more immigrant friendly and more diverse than Australia.
Haha at least you have seasons... We only have summer in DR but I get you. High levels of corruption, theft and lack of progress here is leading young talent out of the country.

So in other words, even if Canada would be a tropical country, it would still be better. Well you got what you voted for (at least significant minority that is regarded as majority in your elections).

I have a question will OINP refund you your application fee if they send you a NOI if at the time your application is submitted they have reached the quota?
There are lot of ambiguity in your question :)
Once you apply for OINP and they begin to process your application - they won't refund.
If quotas are filled , they are more likely to release your nomination when their quotas are replenished.

In either case, once your box is open there goes your 1500CAD.

I don't see any reason for 438, except for a possibility that there might be Canadian students who submitter their profile and were the recipients of ITAs (451-600) segment. It's just a hypothesis that they could have received their transcripts by now after the end of Spring/Summer session.
I have a similar thought process as yours for the last draw

After graduating they have to get atleast 1 yr work exp as well because you cant count work exp while studying in canada
But it is always a possibility that they have work experience of their home country and as soon as they graduate they are granted the points for course completion in Canada which is at least 50 points..

EVERYONE IN THIS GROUP SHOULD FOCUS OF FINDING ANY NEWS OF 2018 QUOTA ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SCORE AND ITA NUMBER IS SIMPLY BAFFLING TO ME. THEY ARE WAY SHORT OF THEIR 2017 PR TARGET AND ARE ALSO REFUSING HUGE NUMBERS OF PR PROFILES DUE TO SMALL MISTAKES. UNBELIEVABLE.
Next Year targets will be available in March and next year implementation plans start from April. The targets will be relatively same however more streams will be included and newly added streams will be improved. In addition, more money is planned to be spent on Technology and making processes smoother and faster. More applications will be received through EE but total economic immigrants will not be changed much.

Now coming to the current situation. I have already presented current data much time in this forum which clearly shows that they are well above their targets and therefore the size of ITA's are expected to stay below 3,000.

In regards to rejections, it is the responsibility of Candidates to meet the IRCC requirements. I have also summarised most common reasons for rejections for applicants to read before applying. 99% of applicants who are rejected have made a mistake that is part of this report.
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/post-e-apr-process-and-common-reasons-for-rejection.510587/

The main target for IRCC at the moment is to complete backlogs before April when the 2018-19 plan is implemented and process applications faster. As the Nomination Quota is ending soon it may help score getting down between November-January, however, competition is expected to stay between candidates above 420.

I hope this will help.

I'm not American but I grew up there, and I'm in Australia (Melbourne) for school now. And yeah, the job market in Australia is pretty atrocious, especially in knowledge industries.
I am in Melbourne as well...maybe all Melburnians trying for Canada should form a group of hopefuls in addition to this forum

Sorry for being the odd one as I don't see anyone having crs less than 400 here.
Iam all out of hope and thoughts ... my score is 338 (will try improving as much as possible) will I ever get an ITA :(.
Is language impacting your scores. Do try to improve them. And am at 404 will enter the 300 band in next 6 months but still hoping for some miracle.

hey guys,

can someone please explain what am i missing on the number for 4th Oct draw.

Total ITA 2801, Cuttoff CRS 438

but when i do the total of no. of candidates from 431 onwards, its 2521.

601-1200 - 169
451-600 - 906
441-450 - 328
431-440 - 1118
TOTAL 2521

so how come cutoff score 438, it should be around 428/429.
I'm sorry from where you had this info ? is there a way to have an live view on the numbers in the EE pool??
