All important id docs need their copies to be certified. I do remember reading somewhere on the GUIDE that they need to be certified and in Pakistan that person is supposed to be the notary public. Who also needs to print in his handwriting "i certify this to be a true copy of the original document" followed by document name, his name and designsture and the date he certified. Its in the guide. However a frw people here have said they didnt get their notories public to write this sentence and were fine. But im pretty sure important doc copies need notorization. Read the guide in depth.Thank you for the answer, another question I had is do photocopies of documents that are already in English need to be notarized also? I do no see any requirement in the application checklist or forms that mention notarizing them. For example my nikahnama is already in English, when I send a copy, does it still need to be notarized?
