Regarding PCC

Hi all,

My husband and I applied for PCC at the Mumbai PSK today, and both of us need police verification for the same.

Is the police verification process complicated? Do the police officers harass for documents for bribes?

My husbands passport was issued in London. He is an Indian citizen since birth but has spent most of his time abroad for work. He lived in Mumbai from 2013 to 2015, was sent abroad from his company in 2015, and just returned to Mumbai this April. Any chances this will complicate the police verification process? He has all necessary documents for proof of the current residence, which is rented out.

A bit worried about the police verification process . Anyone who got it done from Mumbai please share your experience.

PCC is not that complicated but could take couple of weeks. You just need to apply from PSK. Rest of it is taken care by the officials incharge.
Don't act too eager or restless. Just call the PSK after a week and ask the status giving your reference number.
He will probably say that PCC is pending with police officials which will take another week or two as they will do when they feel like.
Once PCC is done, PSK folks will call you to collect it.
Bribe is an integral part of Indian society, sadly. If PSK or police officials ask for some, you can't deny it..can you?
