Here's my timeline:

25 Aug - AOR
08 Sep - Medicals Passed / IP1
11 Sep - NA
22 Sep - IP2 and waiting..

I called CIC last Friday, and a very helpful agent checked my case and told me I passed criminality and eligibility, "they are currently doing a security check which is standard, we do that for everybody". And i've been waiting since. It's been 11 days since i'm in IP2, since my application is being processed fast, I'm expecting a PPR soon, but no one knows how long that damn security screening takes.. thoughts ?

Currently 38 days in IP2... my process was fast till it hit IP2 stage... I pray your IP2 stage goes by smoothly and quickly..

Well, we have been in IP2 since 60 days now and our in the 5th month since our AOR.

We have emailed twice and received a standard reply both times that they cannot confirm when our file will be ready for Finalization.

Called CIC today and he says our file looks good, no documents required and no issues but cannot confirm when it will be ready for finalization. Our application is in progress according to him. So don't know what to make of this

I'm FSWO and I also called CIC but because my visa office is London they didn't tell me anything.
Is your visa office is Ottawa?

Yes Visa Office is Ottawa.

   》Passport/Travel document : Valid Passport or Travel Document. Please provide the copy of bio page of your passport . This must be received by this office by 27/10/2017
   The above requesTed document shall be received in our office with in 30 days from the date of this application. Falure to do so would result in the refusal of your application "

Guys. Apologies for being such a naive & maybe asking a stupid question? How do i know if I am in IP2? I have cleared my medicals & background check is in progress.. Where can I see my status?

You can see your status from your mycic account.
If your background check is in processing then it's IP2.

As for as i understand they need your bio page of passport. normally the term used for this kind of request on this forum is pre PPR. Congrats and good luck
