Hello guys!

I just opened an EE profile and was included in the pool this month. I am currently working in quebec and My visa will expire in December this year. Do i have to renew my visa now even if i dont have a plan to exit canada in the near future? . But can i still stay in canada even if my visa is expire?

I am also planning to apply for US visitor visa,can i travel outside canada while im in the pool?

You can't use EE for PR if you intend to live in Quebec. Also without valid visa you are out of status and you have to leave Canada. Being in EE pool doesn't change anything.

While 431 isn't a bad score, the most recent draws haven't gone below 433, so, unfortunately, there's no guarantee of your receiving an ITA. As Bobbileigh has already indicated, you can't stay in Canada once your current visa expires - being in the EE pool doesn't grant you any kind of status.

So you need to either get your current visa extended, or make plans to leave Canada so you don't overstay your permit and cause problems for yourself in the future, Canada immigration-wise. Even if you get an ITA in the next few weeks, AND were able to get your eAPR submitted within a week of the ITA, AND your PR is approved, it's highly unlikely you would get PR before the new year, as it takes around 6 months to receive PR approval once your eAPR is submitted (some people get it in 1 - 2 months, but these appear to be exceptions; you can't count on this), and you only really have 3 months remaining until year end.

As Bobbileigh also very importantly pointed out, if you plan to stay in Quebec, you cannot use Express Entry to obtain PR and, if you have indicated only Quebec as your intended destination in Canada in your EE profile, you need to change this now to another territory or province, or withdraw your EE profile all together, as, if you do get an ITA, you will go through all the trouble (and money) of submitting your eAPR, only to have it rejected.

On a separate note, if you get a US Visitor's Visa, you can travel outside of Canada, but if you do so after your current permit expires, without renewing it, you probably won't be able to re-enter Canada. A US Visitor's Visa will have no bearing on your ability to enter or remain in Canada.

Can i apply for QSW even if i have applied for EE already? I am also considering applying for QSW but i am not sure if i am allowed to do that..having 2 diffrent applications at the same time. Whatever comes first i have to drop the other one. Pls enlighten me.

Ok il take your advise to renew now my TRV. but when i checked the CIC website, they brought me to the page where they ask what program i am fit in and to the eligibility questions page , its like the EE application. I couldnt find, if theres any, the page where it is just about extending my temp work visa. I want to begin my application as early as now to avoid delays.

Sorry i have a lot of questions. I find my situation is very complicated...i work as a nurse here in quebec handling a temporary license for now because i havent completely pass the french exam for our profession so every year i renew my nursing license to be able to work. I have 3 years to pass the french exam,next year would be my last try. If i can't make it next year, i am only allowed to work until Nov 2019. That is why i am planning to reciprocate my license in ontario. One more thing, my contract to the hospital is until May 2018, they said they gonna renew it but we never know what happens next..they might or they may not renew. Thats why i applied for EE, but then if they renew my contract that would be contradict to my EE application right?..big headache..

I need your help...thank you

Thank you jam to your reply. I didnt choose quebec in my EE application, i chose ontario and other provinces.

Can i also have the link how to renew my visa and the forms to be filled in? Im worried now i only have 2 months to renew my visa, its really giving me a headache, and now im passing it to you guys..sorry. but i did search already to cic website but i couldnt find the right page..thank you very much

You haven't applied for EE already, creating a profile does not constitute applying for PR. Once you submit your eAPR after receiving an eAPR that's when you can say you've applied for PR via EE.

If you apply while living in Quebec prepare to receive a request to write a letter of intent in which you must convince the officer of your intention to reside outside the province of Quebec, if your argument/proof does not convince the officer then your application will be rejected.

Maybe i just used a wrong word but i did not say that i already applied for PR..ok lets paraphrase it then..i already opened an EE profile....i dont know what is eAPR, but anyway its not my concern right now. Im more concern about my visa extension and if its ok to apply for QSW at the same time with having an EE profile.

Like I said, creating a profile does not constitute applying for PR. As long as you don't apply for PR via EE you're free to do as you please with Quebec's immigration program.

I'm sorry you seem so stressed. Unfortunately, I know nothing about work permits or extending them. I can only advise you on Express Entry. You might want to consider searching for a forum devoted to work permits to see if someone there can help you, or seek out an immigration attorney or consultant.

With regard to your plans for pursuing PR though, as DelPiero07 said, until you receive an ITA (Invitation to Apply) resulting from your profile being in the EE pool, you haven't TECHNICALLY applied for PR yet, so you can freely pursue PR through Quebec's programme until you get an Express Entry ITA. If you get an ITA, at that point you'd have to figure out if you want to withdraw any PR application you've submitted for Quebec, or if you want to decline the Invitation to Apply under Express Entry, as I suspect having both applications in progress would represent a conflict that could result in your applications not being approved.
