Maybe share your current status/situation and that will allow someone to advise/help.

I am on PR and just applied for Sponsorship for my wife (she is from/in India), waiting for AOR.
Can I apply for visitor visa ? Also is anyone here did that successfully ? Please advice some checklist.

Can apply but you need to provide evidence she will return to India after her trip. This is possible but you will need to be very convincing why she will leave Canada at the end of her trip when her husband is still in Canada.

More info about me, we applied for Visitor visa last month and got rejected. Then we applied for sponsorship, does that make our case strong for visitor visa again ? Our intention is clear that we are looking for PR but in mean time can we go for VV and what will be good checklist looks like ?
e.g - back in country - Job, family..?

Here is the question you need to answer from the VO that will review your files perspective.

Why will she leave Canada at the end of her trip?

Do you have children back home she is leaving behind.
Does she have a fantastic job she really doesn't want to leave and supporting you while you get established in Canada.
Do you have property back home she needs to sell or prepare for her move to Canada.
Does she take care of her parents both financial and their well being.

Thats what it comes down to you need to write a convincing argument backed with hard evidence she will leave at the end of the trip, if you can do this yes a visa has a good chance but if you can not most likely you will need to wait until her paperwork come through.

It's generally difficult (but not impossible) to get a TRV when PR app is being processed. To the visa officer, it would seem like your wife wants to come to Canada and wait for her PR instead of remaining in India. This is frowned upon.

I suggest you wait for a few more months before you reapply for her TRV

Sounds like it will be bad for sponsorship application, if we right away apply for TRV ?

Reapplying for a TRV won't affect the sponsorship application. It could most probably result in another TRV refusal.

It would be best if you wait for a couple of months after her file is transferred to NDVO. At that point too, she would need to demonstrate really strong reasons to return to India

Transfer sponsorship file to NDVO, we need to demonstrate strong ties with country to return (in interview) ?? Why ? this application is for PR. I am strongly thinking that I understood this wrong, right ?

Oh, I got it, after reading twice. She would need to demonstrate really strong reasons to return to India for TRV, but you are suggesting that we should wait till file get transfer to NDVO, correct ?

Hi,

My wife applied to sponsor me in april 2015 (i was in lebanon), on july 2015 i applied for TRV, i got approved and granted 4 years multi-entry, 3 months after i came to canada i got approved for PR, Therefore My current status in canada is PR.

Below are my exact documents submitted for TRV:

-Last 6 months Pay slips from me ($5000 monthly)
-Last 6 months pay slips from my wife ($3500 monthly 2 jobs)
-Last 6 months bank statement from both of us (total $35000+)
-Letter from my job that ill be on vacation for 2 months and ill get back to work stating my monthly salary.
-Vacation form signed by all my managers (lol)
-medical exam
-passport, old passport, birth certificates, marriage certificate, family certificates (family ties in my country - mother and sister).
-flight ticket for 2 months (dummy ticket of course).
-travel history (never been to usa or UK or australia) only to iraq kuwait and syria.
-explanation letter
-invitation letter

Reasons to visit is that she only visited me for 2 months thats when we got married, and my pr's processing time is 2 years, i also wanna get to know her family and friends since we never met, and then ill get back to my country and wait for PR to get processed, and im not gonna stay there and risk my PR getting approved.

But luckily my PR got approved before going back to my country and here i am :)

If you need more info dont hesitate to contact me.

Good luck!

@Bryanna or any other expert members, quick questions
I don't want to create new thread for this questions, so asking here..
After I submit my application and haven't got AOR (just submit, not even 1 week)..how can I change my address ? Is there anything they can mail before AOR ? Is it possible to change the address ? I have PR under EE they have my mailing address, changing that address will change the sponsored application address ?
thanks in advance!

@Nick~Nick

You'll need to send a Case Specific Enquiry to inform CPC Mississauga (in-Canada web form) about the change in your address. It will take about 5 days for this info to get updated.

Yes, changing your address will change the sponsorship address for your wife's PR app
