Hi All,

Background:
My Status:
  • Working in an NOC A level job on PGWP which expires in Sep 2019
  • More than 1 year of Canadian full time work experience (so I can apply under CEC/ Express Entry)
  • have master's degree in Canada

My Spouse's Status:
  • She received her SOWP in June 2017 which expires in Sep 2019.
  • We are planning for her arrival here in Canada in February 2018.

My Questions:

  • Should I apply for our PR together now if she is still in India and I am in Canada? If yes, then will it take longer or it will be something around 3 months like for CEC application?
or

  • Should I wait for her to enter Canada and then apply our PR together? Is there advantage when she is here compared to when she is in India?

Also please feel free to suggest anything which I might not know of. Thanks in advance.

I think it will take the same time regardless of where your wife is. So I think you should apply as soon as possible. Unless it would be difficult for your wife to get PCC outside of India.

I hope this helps. All the best.

@Nuff_Love Thanks for the response. What did you mean when you said "Unless it would be difficult for your wife to get PCC outside of India."

Also my worries are that, she is coming to Canada first time in Feb 2018 (has multiple entry visa under SOWP because of my PGWP). Since we are applying for our PR together now and if till Feb 2018 we don't receive PR then will there be problem while getting her work permit at the airport? I am expecting a detailed response what can go wrong if any? Thanks in advance.
