Well, I'm little confused about my work experience. Please help me out.
I had variable contracted hours in my last job which is both part time and full time. Moreover, during the first couple of month my job I was in training period and in the experience letter it is stated as trainee Assistant manager. I will provide part of the letter below:

These are the contracted hours. I have worked extra hours which does not reflect in the letter. But got the payslips to prove.

06/06/2011 to 27/11/2011 - Trainee Assistant Manager 20 hours per week

28/11/2011 to 27/01/2013 - Assistant Manager 20 hours per week

28/01/2013 to 29/06/2014 - Managers Assistant 30 hours per week

30/06/2014 to 25/04/2016 - Managers Assistant 20 hours per week


It's the same role only the name has changed.

My first question: Does the training period count as skilled work? If it does count can I count my experience as 3 yrs full time? In this role everyone has to go through a training period.
I dont think training or intern experience counts as work experience.
Second question: If it does not count can I show the extra hours during the last 9 months of my work through payslips which is more than 40 hrs per week altogether? In that case, can I count as 3 yrs full time?
thats a difficult question to answer - can you not show 40 hrs a week for the last role starting from 2014-2016 ?

Actual Roles & Responsibilities of a Garments Merchandiser


-To develop denim collections based on the recent trend and choosing the most appropriate denim garments for order meeting that relies on the need of the business.

-To find out the necessities against the order query followed by finding out the category and their quantities before acquiring them.

-To maintain adequate amount of raw materials reach the factory on time for smooth garments production by following up with the suppliers.

-To manage and guide a group of merchandisers to perform and satisfy the business demand for the company to maximize the profit.

-To decide which raw merchandise to buy from the retail enterprise for the denim garments sale after their production.

-To meet and negotiate different business policies, for instance, price point, credit terminology, modes of shipment, and customer rebates with the fabric and trimming suppliers.

-Visiting the key suppliers’ factories, from time to time, for maintaining the existing business relationship and also searching for new suppliers, for better potential business.

-Traveling to different clothing brand’s showroom and also attending trade and fashion shows to identify and mark the ongoing fashion trends.



Retail and wholesale buyers perform some or all of the following duties: (NOC 6233)

  • Purchase merchandise for resale by retail or wholesale establishments
  • Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials and visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events
  • Select the merchandise which best fits the establishment's requirements
  • Interview suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements
  • Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets and maintain adequate stock levels
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers
  • May supervise the work of other retail buyers.
Retail and wholesale buyers may specialize in a particular merchandise line.

I have only worked fulltime in the last 9 months. So I can't show show 40 hrs a week for the last role starting from 2014-2016.
I just wanted to find out how to calculate the hours on a variable contract.

28/01/2013 to 29/06/2014 - Managers Assistant 30 hours per week - 1.5 months
July/August 2015-April 2016 more than 30 hrs per week - 9 months

If I add these up that's around 2 yrs 4 months fulltime total.
Then I just need 7 months of fulltime eqiuvalent to 14 months part time. Rest I have more than 2 yrs of 20 yrs experience. Which can easily add up as 1 yr fulltime.

Am I right calculating like that? Or is there any other way?

Can anyone else help me out who got experience in calculat
ing working hours?

One more question. In my last role while I was working part time I was Enrolled as a fulltime student. Does the work experience count while I was a fulltime student for FSW?

my query is regarding some information for the process. I have already started the process through one of the immigration agents in India.
The following are my achievements.
I score 400 CRS points as per my agent.
My Ielts score is 6.5 Overall, I have tried Ielts twice and now don't want to give another one, as I have seen the least requirement was 6 or 6.5 overall on some websites
L:6.0, R: 6.0, S: 6.5, W:6.5.

What are my chances to get into pool, can please someone suggest me what should i do. I am really upset as I am not getting proper feedback from the agent.

Your language scores are good enough but whether you meet the eligibility requirements or not for the FSW program that's something you must figure out.

Calculate your score manually, if you're above 67 points you might be eligible to enter the pool.

Ya it will work as for most of the applicants. Be sure you submit all the documents to substantiate your claim. for eg, if am 2 year employee, I would submit first and last month's payslip for the 2 years. By doing so the visa officer will be convinced that I had worked for every year to which I claimed before.
There is not a notarized format, you can use any format and get it notarized. Just tailor the below format to your need.

How can I get company seal if my manager or my colleagues are not working in the same company? if I provide relieving letter of my my manager and explain in LOE that my manager is currently not working will that work? just want to clarify again.

IMHO it will not work, firstly you are not providing a binding HR letter who was working in the said organisation when they gave you the letter.
secondly manager is issuing a letter who isnt even working there anymore - if i was the case officer i would have some serious doubts about the claims you are making...

i would harass (lol) the HR there till they gave the letter... or look for someone who can write the letter for you.. if you cant get both - its better not to claim any points for this work experience.

I have received Its on Aug 2nd.
My wife is primary applicant.
When I was uploading the documents... website was asking to upload mine employment record with reference letter having job responsibility mentioned.
Is it necessary to get this documents ready since no points were claimed since I am secondary applicant?
Any suggestions?
Although my wife is having exper8letter with job responsibility

HR letter not showing work hours is fine, as long as it says full time somewhere

but jobs and responsibilities letter is mandatory - i know in some companies like TCS they dont issue this letter, hence the workaround is manager or a senior person issuing this letter... but in all cases i have seen that manager is still working in TCS when they issue the letter.

in my opinion its risky - but its your application and your choice... upto you how you want to proceed

well you need to remove your work experience from EE profile, only then it will not ask for job letters for accompanying spouse

you can move this to personal history section - whatever you mention in Personal history section does not have to be accompanied with proof
