Dear all,

I am going to fill forms and going to apply in a couple of days, need some guidance regarding these issue. Hope will get positive replies.

1- In IMM 0008 form, it shows how many members are included my self are in this application for PR, should i write 1? Since they are not going to come with me at the moment and accordingly i don't need to pay fees for them, but just for my self 550 $. Right?

2- They stated that we should not leave any blank spaces in forms and should put NA over there, instead of leaving them blank, if it is so what we will write in those boxes for what we even we can not write N/A, Like: in this form, 10 Question is am i previously married or something, if we click NO, still that box of name of spouse will be left blank, should we write NA there?

3- What if my mailing address and residence address is same? should i write same in both boxes or NA in one of them?

4- My wide never had any family or sir name. First her name was different, but after our marriage my name is her last name/given name, what should i write in her family name box? My name or NA?

5- My son is just 6 months old, what should i write down in his details of education? "0" ? And Occupation? NA ?

6- I have just 1 son, so, third area will be all empty in family member section of this form, Should i leave all blank or write NA in all areas where i have access to type?

I know above questions seem but stupid, but i just want to clear my self to avoid application process late or reject.

Will get back soon with some more questions :)

Regards,

J...

1.- I think if you just write yourself you later will need to process another application to sponsor your family, and that will take time and more money, because to sponsor your family you need to proof you can support them, I'm not sure of the amount.

2.- Write NA in all even in question #10 put NO and then NA, when they said "not leave any blank spaces" they mean it, when they receive the application and start input your info into the system if they found a blank spaces thy simply put it aside and returned, they can't amuse for you.

3.-write the address in both

4.-NA

5.- education = 0 Occupation = NA (I have a two year )

6.- NA in all

Hope this help but double check I'm not an expert.

:-D

Hi Ahmad,

i think you should apply for the full family as it is more painful to sponsor them later. it costs lots of money and you have to show about 40000-45000 income for family of four.

Anyone who wants to answer this question and not suggestions like you should take your family together, etc?

here's how I see things

1- In IMM 0008 form, it shows how many members are included my self are in this application for PR, should i write 1? Since they are not going to come with me at the moment and accordingly i don't need to pay fees for them, but just for my self 550 $. Right?

right, one member i.e. you, plus you only pay fee for one person, but when it comes time to show proof of funds you have to calculate this on all dependents

2- They stated that we should not leave any blank spaces in forms and should put NA over there, instead of leaving them blank, if it is so what we will write in those boxes for what we even we can not write N/A, Like: in this form, 10 Question is am i previously married or something, if we click NO, still that box of name of spouse will be left blank, should we write NA there?

yes, do not leave any box empty, but if "not applicable" is not the right thing to say, use common sense

3- What if my mailing address and residence address is same? should i write same in both boxes or NA in one of them?

write out same address in both sections

4- My wide never had any family or sir name. First her name was different, but after our marriage my name is her last name/given name, what should i write in her family name box? My name or NA?

your family name, provided it appears somewhere on an official document you are submitting like her passport

5- My son is just 6 months old, what should i write down in his details of education? "0" ? And Occupation? NA ?

"nil" and "nil" or "not applicable" times two

6- I have just 1 son, so, third area will be all empty in family member section of this form, Should i leave all blank or write NA in all areas where i have access to type?

draw a diagonal line through the section and write "not applicable"

you can apply to sponsor your family as soon as you land as PR, but helpme's comment is alarming, you may wish to research this process further if money is an issue for you

Why do you have to show funds for all he dependents, the man already tells us that he's going there alone.

Again i am confused, and still didnt get any positive answer.

What if my wife and kid is not coming with me at the moment? Should i write 1 in box they asked in form that how many members are including you are in this application?

Is that box which will decide i need to pay 550$ or more? Means if i write there 3, i need to pay for them all. If i write 1, i will just pay my fees?

And what should i write in that box if later on i want them to come with me. Confusion.

Please guide.

Actually i just wana pay 550 at the moment, later on i want my family to come with me, if my case is Ok.

Hope you got my point.

I have the same confusion, but well just put 1 and pay $550. But be sure to include their names on the applications so that you can sponsor them later. The instruction guide says "You must list all family members, whether they wish to be considered in your application for Permanent Residence at this time or not. Also list family members whose location is unknown (including those missing or presumed dead). You will not be able to sponsor family members at a later date if they are not listed on your application."

When you say your wife and kid are "not coming" with you, do you mean they will be included in the PR application but will not be entering Canada with you the first time you enter as a PR or do you mean they will not be included in the immigration as accompanying spouse and son/daughter?

If you are not including them in your application for PR, then they do not become permanent residents when you do. In that case you claim "1". You pay one processing fee, yourself, the principal applicant.

When you say "later on" you want them to come with you, do you mean before or after your PR application is finalized? If before, then I believe you can add them to your application. I am not familiar with how that goes so see what others say. If after, then you will have to sponsor them, which is a whole new and different application to become a PR of Canada.

I am not an expert.

Good luck,

V

My purpose is just that right now my Kid is very young, and my wife needs sometime with him here. Of course i will give my all family details on forms but i think i should select option that they will not be accompanying me. And put 1 in that area of persons included in application.

So, if my case is done and i am already in Canada, i will see situation that i can call my family there or not. Other wise will wait for couple of months or years and then apply for their PR.

Should i explain more? or you guys got my point :)

Jawad...

Dear Jawwad

I persume from your post that u r Pakistani living in Pakistan.

From the time you apply and the time you get your PR (If approved) it would persumably take around 1.5-2.0 yrs at least even if your application is fast tracked. So your visa stamp would have around 9-12 months to be valid.

Now if you apply now, your kid would be around 3 years elder in his/her age. Besides thousands of mothers in Canada are there taking care of thier siblings in spite of bieng Foriegn born and it would not be impossible for your spouse to do so. I would agree with someone who suggested you in the start of this topic to apply asa family.

My Advice:
Apply as a Family with your Spouse and Kid / Kids and pay their Fees. after you get PR and you reach Canada at the possible earliest date by your visa, call your family with Kids in the Last month of thier valid visas. It would be like 2.5 Years from now.

It's your Right to decide but think about what I said carefully.

Sincerely

Hopeful Canadian
