Hi, @legalfalcon

My file is at NDVO now for over 2 weeks now. As NDVO is reluctant to provide any status update, can I write to CPC Ottawa pretending to know about my visa office (in a hope they may provide some update like in queue for officer's review or any new information). Or is it just a waste of time? I have ordered notes and will receive in a fortnight.

Sorry if this question sounds stupid to you.
Thanking you in advance.

Dear Legal Falcon,

I have a 15 days gap in my employment history in the last 10 years. But it is in the same month.

In my personal history, it is asking for month and year only and if it is calculated in this way i don't have a gap.

If they are calculating days there is a gap.

Will there be a problem?

My timeline is as below.

April-2006 to July 2007
July-2007 to Jan 2009
Feb-2009 to June 2015
July-2015 till present

TIA

Hello @legalfalcon
I received ITA in Aug 2nd draw and applying under CEC class.

While filling post ITA forms, I saw the difference in start month for education section (Bachelors Degree in India) compared to my past PG Work Permit and PG Work Permit Visa applications.

For past (PGWP &Visa) applications Start Date - 2007/08.
For EE Start Date- 2007/10.

1. Does VO cross check with the dates mentioned in previous submission applications (PGWP) and EE docs?
Most likely not

2. Will it be fine, if I make changes to the dates for education History and submit with the files explaining in LOE? Or is it better to decline and get back into pool?

Explain it in LoE and you will be fine.

My CRS score is 461 and mostly get an ITA in next draw if I get back into pool.

What do you suggest?

Hi Legalfalcon,

Thanks for your response.

I am only worried that OINP nominated me for NOC 2281. In my last 4.2 years, I have filled my work experience in NOC 2173. This implies that I have 10 months of experience in NOC 2281 in last 5 years.

Prior to that I have shown work experience of 7+ years in NOC 2281. I am not sure if I meet eligibility criteria for work experience. I should have chosen primary NOC as 2173 in my Express entry profile, but for some reason it was 2281. Now I have got ITA.

Am I still eligible and meet the minimum work experience criteria? If not, What can I do now?

Please help me!

Thanks!
Once you have a nomination you get 600 points for that. However, you still need to meet the FSW or CEC minimum eligibility, which asks for a minimum of one year continuous work in any NOC. You will need to get 67 points to meet the FSW. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

You can choose either of the NOCs to do that, or a combination of different NOC, nothing to worry about

Hello Legal Falcon.

Thank you for all your guidance to gather appropriate documentation.

I have a quick question. I am gathering bank letters and bank statements for my proof of funds. In this process I got a question. Currently I have joint account with my spouse. He is also accompanying me to Canada.

All my paychecks, bonus and gift amount is received in this joint account.

Do I need to no objection letter from my spouse to use the funds for Canada immigration purpose as it is joint account or will that be fine to submit statements and letter with both of our names?

Yes, that will be recommended. It will be a small notarized affidavit, that is all stating the you spouse has no objections in you using the funds of settelemt funds for immigration to Canada.

Please advise me on this. thank you for your time and effort.

Hello Legalfalcon could you please advice on the following points:

  • When you send your fingerprints to other countries for PCC from India, does it have to be done through the police station or can it be directly done and sent through forensic labs such as truthlabs, without any attestation from police?
No need for getting it from police in India, as they are not trained, unless the agency you are sending i to specifically requires it to be authenticated by a police agency, which most likely should not be the case.
  • Is it mandatory to get marriage certificates attested from MEA, if issued in India?
No, if they are in english, no need for attestation.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello legalfalcon, thanks a lot for your response. Regarding the fingerprints, this is for PCC from Bahrain. I had called the CID there and they said fingerprints from nearest police station. But I have seen first hand how inefficient these people here are, so wanted to reconfirm with someone here. Would it be better to check again with CID Bahrain?

I asked it as a thread but didn't get any reply. Legalfalcon can you suggest please:

I applied for E-APR on 19th June and now at NA2 in FSW. Just now realized I only showed my Canadian master's degree in my EE profile whereas I put my bachelor's and another master's degree alongwith my Canadian master's in E-APR. Should I do something from my end? Will it be a problem as my eligibility is still not done.

Thank you
You get the highest points for the Masters and if your degree is from Canada, you do not need ECA for it.

So you are all good. Nothing to worry.

I studied abroad one summer exactly 10 years ago. If my 10 years begins as of getting the ITA I need to count it in my personal and travel histories but I won't be submitting my app until at least September so 10 years back from that point won't include it. Should I plan to leave the study abroad out or should I leave it in because it's within 10 years of the ITA date (and possibly just to be safe and thorough)? Thanks for any help you can give on this!

To be on the safer side you should include it.

To a question on personal history,ur reply suggests we need to update details for past 10 years or since turned 18 whichever is earlier ..
I'm now 35 & as per ur reply I've to update personal history since I turned 18yrs...(that is earlier)...
however I've read in a cic page (schedule A,background declaration form) 'since turned 18 or for past 10 years, whichever is 'most recent'...going by that I'll need to update since 2007 as 'for past 10 years' would be most recent than since I turned 18..

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/imm5669E.pdf

appreciate ur patience...:)
When I said which ever is earlier, is whether you turned 18 or the last 10 years, which happened the most recent? Since you are 35, so last 10 ys is the earlier thing than you turning 18, counting backwards.

Hello legalfalcon,

I got a reply to my mail sent to CIC Canada. The reply actually came from Singapore Visa Office (My LVO). According to the reply, my file was transferred to Singapore Visa Office on 12 June, 2017, and currently it is waiting in queue for review by an officer. It also mentions that the review will be done in a chronological order (in order the file were received). And the officer at the LVO will contact me if necessary.

I don't know if it's the 'final review' or 'additional review'.

I am a March 16 applicant (FSWO). My BG is still NA since May 25. Medical Passed.

I have heard that files are sent to a local visa office only after R10 and A11.2 reviews are done.

What do you think? Am I on the right track?
Yes, final review is when all the information is collected, and the officers reviews it before finalizing the file. So most likely you are at that stage.

Dear @legalfalcon

I have two questions

1- My elder Daughter birth certificate is missing a 'H' from her last name as compared to Passport. Will it be a problem and should I rectify it before applying eAPR or I can go with the same Birth certificate.

Its better if you can. If not, then you need to file notarized affidavits from parents.

2- My younger daughter Birth certificate is missing her mother's Last name as compared to Passport. Should I rectify it?
If you can get it done, much better, if not then again you will need more information and documents which mat raise red flags.
