In theory they are not linked, background checks should come after they assessed eligibility, but they might do everything together as well.

Hi guys, we just got a letter saying my husband meets the eligibility requirements and we just have to wait for the medical to be approved, which is already approved, and the background and security, which says it's in process. I think this means he got his AIP right?

If so, what's the next step?

In this case, I honestly have no idea. Might be a few days to 2 months.. keep in mind that you have to submit the new PP and wait for it to be attached to your file, then get final approval done by an officer, then a landing invite... Could be shorter depending on what office you land at.

No actually we went last year (not realising the risk we were taking) and her sister is coming to visit us in 2-3 weeks.

Yesterday afternoon, we went to Etobicoke CIC. After maybe 1-hour wait, we were called to the counter. Thought the landing interview would be done in the closed offices LOL. The officer was very nice, making it feel not an interview, just a talk between friends. Checked our driver license to make sure we live together, checked applicant's passport, asked whether "any crime, ever be refused, any dependent", and stuck one photo on the confirmation paper. Then all set.

Fortunately we traveled out of country before this interview, otherwise my wife has to stay in Canada until having received the PR card LOL.

same old "medical received"
however i got aip since march 13th and was requested 3 last things
medical, rrpf and copy of passport
sent all 3 within the same week however passport wasnt valid
they sent back and requested me to renew my passport because i ould need a valid passport( for the landing id assume)
so in may 24 i sent passport through my consulate in toronto to get renew(send to my country)
may 30 had to redo a signature. june 30 have to recent 2 pictures because quality wasnt good enough for them. now june 27th its in transit(missisauga) so i get passport either today or by monday and send them copy of valid passport. then i just wait for interview, since when i last called they said they have everything they need and im guessing just the landing is left.

Lady Ennui, I also live in the South East of Calgary and I has My medical at Sunridge Mall, Xray in the same building immediately after and blood work a few days later. The medical itself cost about $265, Xray was around $35 and blood work was around $40.

I appreciate your reply, thank you just wondering why you opted to go there cos there's clinic closer to us which is in Midnapore, and by far the cheapest, I just called all the clinics in Calgary lol. I was informed that the one in Sunridge would take 2weeks to send info to cic. The one in Midnapore told me within 10days. Not able to book an appointment yet due to my work schedule, I work 2 jobs, no day off, sigh....

My friend buys the seasons off Google Play... I usually just stream from one of the sources found int eh kodi apps (like primewire.ag or watchseries). Careful though -- I have recently heard reports of people getting notices of infringement in the mail.... so if you're going to do this, use a trusted source, or a VPN.
