I have a medicare card here in Quebec which is set to expire this month (along with my IEC visa). I am currently pregnant (therefore not working right now)

I applied for PR back in October, got CSQ back in February and CIC recently asked for additional document. When I phoned CIC, they said that my medical and background checks are complete..and they are still reviewing my eligibility checks now.

Can I renew my medical card or not?

Why not to renew medical card, i mean what are you waiting for ? eligibility check and consequent steps can take months .. you will loose your medical coverage ,you should renew your visa at the earliest and get your medicard extended by RAMQ immediately ..

Ok , that's trickier .. i am not sure what can be done in this situation ..but you can visit RAMQ with your AOR and explain them .they might suggest some workaround for time being...

Hmm yeah true. I will try and ask what can be done. I wonder if I show them my CSQ it would be better

Yeah pls take CSQ as well as AOR and all other supporting documents for PR ..so that they can extend coverage ,if possible , on provisional basis..
