I have talked to someone who says that he went into Canada the first time on the immigration visa, however, he did not wait until he got the PR card to leave, but left anyways. Then he applied a second time for the immigration visa to be able to enter Canada, since he did not get the PR card. Is that possible? if so would it take special paper and how much time would it need.

There is an option of a very dear friend in Toronto who can send me the PR card if it does get delivered after we leave. However, we intend to live in London. I have been told that I cannot do that, since I would have to be living in the same city that we give the address for the PR card to be sent. Do we have to do the health card and the SIN card directly upon arrival, cant this be done the next time we land in Canada?

It is usually 63 days for the PR card to be out, but does it sometimes take less time or more time? is 63 days the average number of days?

We are looking for options we have in regards to staying there for 70 days and wait for the PR card to be out or whether we leave and someone can send it to us.

I dont know if you anything about the above situations.

Thanks for the help.

Apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document-PRTD then. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/
No guarantees by the time your PR is approved that it will only take 63 days. It could be more plus mailing time.
Which province are you going to land?
Since you are planning to stay a bit longer or until 63 days, might as well get your health card and SIN.

We are landing in Ontario.

How long dpes the perminant resident travel document need time?i tried looking on the site i didnt see it.

Is there a chance that the request be denied?

We are not sure that we would be staying the 63 days.. we might only stay 1 month or 1.5 months depending on several factors (how long it would take to get the PRTD is one of the factors)...

Well, for Ontario, to qualify for OHIP, one of its requirements is to be physically present in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days immediately after you began living in the province. For SIN, you can go any time to a Service Canada Centre to apply for one.

PRTD- I am not sure either how long it will take to receive your PRTD. Maybe search the forum for it or contact your local VAC.

Thats just insane, they would add 2 years to your processing time, just like that?

Hi

I am working on applying for my spouse under family class who is currently in India and have completed my forms and documents. I was wondering if there is anything that I need to be careful about when submitting my application. Also, my spouse was earlier residing in Sweden for 6 years, first as a student and then on work permit but when he applied last year for an extension, his visa was refused.

Does that need to be noted on his sponsorship application anywhere and does that affect his process for the same?

I will also be travelling to India soon to visit him and stay there for a while. Any help with my queries will be appreciated.

Also, my spouse applied for visitor visa this year and was refused. Do I need to mention that on the application and will it affect his application in any way.

Well since they wont make a decision without having the interview those 24 months do add to your processing time.

Hi To Senior members:

I sponsored my wife from India, which was approved, in that letter they mentioned that I IMM5569 would have to be submitted within 30 days and that my wife will receive a message within 5 business days. Since my wifes paper application was linked I received a message stating that her medicals are required, but no message of the IMM5569. Questions:

  1. My wife will get the medical done, which will be submitted by the doctor. But how will they get the IMM5569, and where do I submit this, there is no upload document or anything on the application as of yet.
  2. Is it standard for health to come through first then background check document to be requested after? The letter states that the background information should be received no later than 30 days of my wife receiving the message to do so.
Could one of you kind people who have already gone through this process please advise.

Thank You.
