My application was delivered on April 27th.
My credit card was charged on July 10.
I will update when I receive the mail.
I received my report. Below is the updated timeline:

April 27th - application delivered
July 10th - credit card charged
July 12th - date on the report
July 17th - report received

In my case the entire process takes about 80 days. i live in Virginia, 4 hour drive away from FBI's West Virginia premise. But the post still takes 5 days.

Hi,

Is there any service that indicates the date that the application was received and processed, or were all timelines posted here based on the delivery tracking service and bank statements for credit card charges? I sent the application from outside of the US and it was delivered to the local post on 7th July, so is there anyway I can confirm that the application indeed reached FBI?

Interestingly, they mailed out my response on the 7th and I got it on the 10th. But, I still have to receive my wife's response which was mailed out on the same date and time. USPS works in mysterious ways. :p
How USPS works is seriously a mystery .. after waiting for 4 weeks .. finally my wife's rejection letter reached my US address, but my report is yet to be received. Strange .. as both the letters were mailed out on the same date by the FBI - 19th June and sent to the same address .. but one reached and the other is still at large ;-)

I also got a PCC done from UK police and admire their efficiency .. all done in less than 2 weeks. Though expensive than the FBI process, they have multiple options of delivery - use the regular post or pay extra and receive via courier. Also, had the option to club my and my wife's reports in the same delivery package.

And must mention that the PCC I got from India was done in less than 3 weeks - including filling the online form, visiting the passport office and home verification visit by the police officer .. all done in less than 3 weeks and costed me just Rs. 1090.00 (about $17) only for both me and my wife .. :D

Can someone advise me... My case:

1. ITA received: May 31st (So 51 days remaining as of today, 13 Jul)
2. Found out that I need FBI PCC: Today, 13 Jul (Had forgotten about a 4 week trip to US 8 years back :(
3. Initial Plan was to upload all other documents by today (I had prepared everything else) - but now am worried

New plan:
1. Get Fingerprinted by someone tomorrow
2. Send Fingerprints and FBI PCC Form tomorrow (by USPS(?) with tracking number)
3. Wait till FBI receives the package - get the USPS delivery information (online portal)
4. Upload all documents with the scan of FBI fingerprint card, FBI form, USPS tracking information as proof of submission for FBI PCC

5 - Hope that CIC doesn't reject my application

Can someone let me know if I need to add anything else to this?
When should I submit the application - once USPS shows the package as delivered OR a few days after that?

Edit: Cumulative stay of around 190 days split across 4 trips of 90 days(2005) + 46 days(2008) + 14 days (2014)+ 40 days (2015)
This is what I got from the FBI today - 'The current processing time for an FBI Background Check is taking 10-12 weeks to complete from the date the request was received.'

So its unlikely that you'll receive your report before your deadline. So the best is to send your application to FBI ASAP. Send using FedEx or UPS (both preferred) or USPS with tracking option (if from within US). Then maybe 1-2 weeks before your deadline, write to FBI asking for the status of your application. Remember to mention your full name and date of birth when writing to them. They usually reply in a day's time.

You can then apply and give a letter of explanation (LoE) indicating that you have applied to FBI and its taking time to process your application for FBI PCC and its beyond your control. Attach the courier or USPS receipt and the email from FBI as evidence.

CIC is aware of the time it takes for FBI PCC and usually considerate of the delays people are facing and allows time to submit the documents.

I got my FBI report today.

It says no arrest record.

Then it says - "this does not preclude further criminal history at state or local level."

Is this normal? does cic need clearance from state and local levels too?
This is perfectly fine.

My application was received by FBI on 25 Apr. I just called them, they will ship my Clearance certificate tomorrow.

Any idea how long post will take within US?
I am in NY.
Thanks
From FBI - 'All responses are mailed through the US Postal Service First Class Mail please allow standard mailing time (three weeks in the US and four weeks outside the US) to receive the response. There is no tracking number with the US Postal Service First Class Mail. Responses cannot be emailed.'

Hi Everyone,

I recently received my FBI PCC letter. However I have already submitted my Express Entry application to IRCC with a letter of Explanation. Can you please help me how can I update the application and attach the FBI letter to it. I do not see any option in gc key to update the application now.

Thanks
DJ
