Background check Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check.


My question is Do you really get an email saying your BC is being looked at?
We got our AoR 2 on july 5, 2017

How long does it take for them to look at it from your experience? Thank you.

We weren't notified when the background check started. I don't think they bother to tell people, they just do it. Timing seems to be different for everyone. It was about two and a half months from the start of the background check to decision made for us, but it goes more quickly for some folks.

Youre also inland - the processes are a bit different for outland from what im seeing

My timeline show : we are processing your background check since Monday 17/07/2017 Singapore visa office, any idea how long I will get PR , it should be last step 6months and 13days today

Our background check has been in progress for almost 5 months. I ordered GCMS notes and only the criminality part of our app has been started. I think it is stalled on this part because in our notes it said that RCMP fingerprinting has been requested but we never got the request through the GCKey account nor any emails. The due date on that was April 1, 2017, the same date for our Schedule A which we submitted back in March (this is just my interpretation). Maybe they forgot to send out the request and therefore our app was put on the "bottom of the pile" as they didn't receive the document which we have had since May.

This is an exception, but I just wanted to put it out there since human error can occur.

We have sent an email to the VO to find out if they want the document, which they should in order to complete our criminality check.

It sucks to have delays in the processing over things that might be caused by human error.

No email is sent to tell you when BGC starts. You just have to check on GCKey account if it is linked.

Our background Check status on MyCIC changed from "We are processing your application. We will contact you you when we start your background check" to "Not Applicable". What does this N/A mean? We are a March 2017 case. Someone on the forum said it turns to N/A just before PPR. I have my doubts. Anyone?

Mine is also SGVO. Are you paper based or EE? Have you got FT (aor2) or MR?
