HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CALL CENTRE.

Hi All

So yesterday I wanted to speak to an Agent about my application (still havent recieved the AOR1 email after the application being in Mississauga for 2 weeks) so i called the telephone number provided on the CIC website.

I cant seem to find an option to speak to an agent.

Normally pressing 0 or * would allow me to speak to an agent when calling other call centers. I tried that but it was invalid.

I called at 11am using my cellphone.

Can anybody assist me?
Is there a trick to this?

The trick is try calling then going through citizenship line. They can't answer you after to you wait but usually the wait is very short and then they'll transfer you directly through to an agent. May have to wait some more but definitely better than not getting through because it's too busy so just follow the keys for the citizens

The family sponsorship line is 1,1,2, 3 and you can press whatever numbers because you clearly don't have a file number yet. Any age and then it may transfer or maybe it won't but if it doesn't you can try the citizenship line as I suggested

Too early to get AOR1. Give it atleast 30 days

It could even take longer as there are still May applicants who didn't get AOR1. It is too soon to worry

Some more info if it helps. Sent sponsorship app for my child on 8th June. Recd AOR1 today (Saturday). Linked my app successfully even though they didn't ask for that. Status says they started processing app on 7th July.

I agree with the others. It's only been a couple of weeks. No reason to call whatsoever. You are going to be doing a lot of waiting and weeks can pass without anything happening. Go out ... live your life ... it's way too early to start worrying. You'll only drive yourself crazy (ask me how I know! lol).

I did not notice you said you sent the application only two weeks ago. It's WAY to early to even be concerned or worried. It takes approximately 30 days.. It can be even 60 however you will receive a letter of confirmation. Starting to worry this early will only drive you crazy as the waiting game starts now. Be patient and live your life, trust me!(us)
