If i were you mate, i would keep self employment only in the personal history. Long term unemployed stretching to present time doesn't look good with CIC. It may not harm but still. If you are not claiming points, yeah go with a reference letter from a friend who can vouch for you just in case the inquiry is made. Sometime ago i did hear someone saying they were asked for reference letter for current occupation even after he didn't claim any points for it. So better cover up with something than saying unemployed for present time....
I generally ignore 'What are my chances' to above 430s...but like u said,I try to clear things up if their concerns seem well founded / based on lack of info...
I too understand someone who knows their CRS score knows the past cut offs and their chances...may be bit clueless about the forward trend...
Anyway...I enjoy the sarcastic replies...so it's kind of fun if someone comes up with 'I'm 460 only'...and someone else vents out the desperation with a beautiful reply

by the way, will long term unemployment explained as 'self employment' and put in personal history, invite much questions...?
or should I cover up with an entrepreneur friend of mine with a basic experience letter ..not to claim points...
hope u get what I mean...
Well hello! HAHAHAHAHA. I'm good my mate. How are you? When is the party eh?King Kurly! How are you??
Thank you dear....so be it...If i were you mate, i would keep self employment only in the personal history. Long term unemployed stretching to present time doesn't look good with CIC. Oh! Sorry to hear about that mate. It must have been difficult to let it go. I'm very confident you will be in again in couple of draws. If you don't mind, and for everyone to be informed, what was the mistake?Just declined my 31 May ITA due to a dumb mistake lol
Now sitting at 413 and wating to get invited again
It will fall below 403 mate. Just hang in there. However, it is always better to have a back up plan. For that purpose, i re-created my profile on Monday last week without worrying about the tie-break thing and ba'am, NOI on Friday. If no ITA until late July or early August, OINP it is. Just wait until tomorrow and re-create it during the weekend. Good luck. Thanks a lot.. Yeah well I don't know if regular draws will ever fall to 403, thats why I consider its safer to go through PNP
With 386, September first half or by earliest August end. My recommendation however, better go for the IELTS if you can pull your reserve. If however you get ITA before you appear for the IELTS, well you can let go of that, claim whatever you can from the BC or IDP. They sheer joy of ITA will overcome the loss of money. But if somehow score doesn't drop, at least you have your date with you. I have been following many experts opinion and i have been hearing score can go upto 380-385. You are still kind of borderline with your CRS. Book your IELTS, keep preparing and keep expecting for drop. Good dayCRS at 386 what are my chances.....I'm loosing energy and loosing hope. Earliest available test date is October/November 2017 in my country.........Been in the pool almost a year
Absolutely. Your NOC is 6341 and your skill type is B for barber. So keep the barber experience. Can i get a free hair cut for that mate Good day.Hello, thanks for this thread. About to submit my EE profile with a score of 453. I'm stuck on NOC to earn more points. I've been self employed as a barber for a while is it advisable to put this as my NOC???
I am bit confused, why unemployment for more than 6 months is a problem? As I am aware the calculation is last 5 years or so, please throw some light on this. My wife is a primary applicant and she is not employed for past 1.5 years, it is more of maternity break, but she is still 444 points as she has over 12 years of experience in last 15 yearsThere is not need to be employed as of currently. However, if you both are unemployed for 6 months, case office might wonder why. In that case a letter of explanation will be very helpful stating all your reasons. Long time unemployed might be a problem but 6 months, not so much. Just prepare a good LOE. As for your score, i am glad to inform you, you guys are in for the very next draw, whenever that might be. Good day.
Shouldn't be a problem at all. Stay worry free. Next draw, you are in. Keep gathering your documents already.I am bit confused, why unemployment for more than 6 months is a problem?
