Recent being in the last couple years. Probably 30-45 days total although I'd have to think back to add them up. It's definitely not close to 6 months total. I was visiting post-AOR too. I don't know if they take that into account. I suppose I'll find out when I get GCMS notes. I won't be back before I (hopefully) get PPR so with any luck they won't get picky about my RCMP.

The request letter gave me 2 months to submit. I received it June 23 and they asked for it by August 23rd. At the end they had boilerplate text saying within 30 days, but the actual date given and that shown on the upload slot on MyCIC is August 23rd.

I'm using https://xl-id.com/en/fingerprinting/canadian-criminal-records-check-by-fingerprints-international-mail/ to submit my request to RCMP and I mailed my fingerprints off yesterday. Hopefully I'll receive the police certificate in a couple weeks.
Thanks for the info and the link! :)

Based on what i have seen in the past, its not always the case where your file moved to LVO for final processing. Even if you look at old threads...around year old, while it can generally be assumed that final processing happens at LVO, there are many cases of Abu Dhabi cases being handled by the london office etc. Its about load sharing and since everything is digital and the file never physically moves anywhere thanks to EE, this can be alloted to anyone with excess capacity and that explains why London used to handle many outland cases a year back. I think that they now probably have the option or the capacity to handle cases at Ottawa too! So my conclusion is that USUALLY, cases are handled in the final stage at LVO but not necessarily. They will decide where it finally goes based on division of labour. They are just sharing the load and why not. It doesn't matter who processes it since I am sure the goal is to finish it as soon as they can instead of burdening it with an overworked LVO!

In the end, it shouldn't matter to us who is handling the case coz at the end, we just need our PPR on time! Also, there is another myth floating on the forum that if our case is handled in Ottawa, do we need to send our passports there. Again, that doesn't make any sense. All final stamping is done by the LVO through the local visa center/VFS. People keep forgetting that these aren't physical paper files that need to move. It's all online and digital.

Yes, that makes sense. If an Indian applicant has his file processed finally at Ottawa (or Sydney as the case may be, whatever), it's not necessary and feasible too to send his passport to Ottawa for stamping PR visa. It's far more practical and faster to send his PP to the local VFS. This way, he could get his pp back with a stamped visa within a week or so. On the contrary, sending it to Ottawa, and receiving it back to India would definitely consume more time and money.

I personally know someone whose file was processed at Ottawa and all he had to do was send it to the nearest local VFS Canada office in India.

There were two rejection cases added to the tracker yesterday. AOR Apr 15 and 22. One is lack of a certain PCC and the other one is unknown.

Btw how does one come to know about his/her rejection? Is there a mail or just status update? Anyone knows?

Did he sent email to Ottawa requesting VO change or went ahead without informing them?
